Tostones Café — Restaurant in Cape Elizabeth

Visited the Cape Elizabeth location yesterday. Waited 1.5 hours and paid $27 for cold food in small portions. We ordered at 5:50pm and did not receive our food until after 7:45pm. People who came in after us got their food first but waited as long as we did. I ordered yuca fries and a cone. Everything in the cone should have been prepped- the only items to be made fresh were the plantain and the yuca. The cone was small and I got maybe 7 fries. 4 people in the kitchen with no food going out the door for almost an hour and a half. At one point some tall dude walked in, did absolutely nothing, and left. Meanwhile, I’m sitting in a cold restaurant with no drink or fries for over an hour. To the business owners, your business is not going to survive in Cape Elizabeth if you don’t pull it together. Your customer base is parents running their kids to and from school/practice. You will get one chance with them before they decide that your food isn’t worth the hassle. Word travels fast here. So...

It was amazing! Spectacular service and delicious dishes. We wanted to eat a little bit of our Peru and the truth is that our expectations were exceeded, we were 4 adults and my two kids.. We ate sooo good... the yuquitas, the huancaina sauce, the tacacho, the lomo saltado fusion, the Chicharrón. My children ate tacos and a burrito... The atmosphere was super friendly and welcoming... ahhh and my sister and I had Margaritas, very good 100% recommended. If we hadn't decided to try the arepas at Tostones by the beach (kiosk at Palace Playland) , which by the way were spectacular, another 5 stars.... We wouldn't have been able to try those delicious dishes from the restaurant. Next time we come to Maine, we definitely coming back to eat...

One of the best lunches I've had in a long time. My wife has been raving about this place for months and I finally got to try it today.... WOW I HAVE BEEN MISSING OUT! Awesome selection of different dishes, there's something for everyone. I had the Cinco De Mayo tostone plate and it was so delicious. Fresh ingredients, savory carne, and a perfectly cooked tostone base. It was a big portion too, had to take the rest home. The cafe is wonderfully decorated as well and the staff are incredibly friendly.
