Absolutely Amazing – A True Hidden Gem!

I had the pleasure of dining at Amor de Mami in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed like family. The atmosphere was bright, colorful, and spotless, with beautiful plants adding a fresh touch. You can immediately feel that this is a family-run spot filled with love and pride.

I ordered the beef empanada, relleno de papa, tostones, pernil, arroz con gandules (with pigeon peas), and a piña colada slushy. Every single item was packed with authentic Spanish flavor and cooked to perfection. The food was incredibly fresh—when I ordered tostones, Mami herself cut the plantains right in front of me! And still, my total wait time was less than 15 minutes.

The service was fast, friendly, and heartfelt. You can tell this family truly cares about their food and their guests. Prices were very fair, especially considering the quality and portions.

I just stopped in there this evening just trying to find something different other than subs or pizza or wings. I walked in and out was literally a mom and son and maybe a daughter but they were so friendly. Helped me order and I was on my way. I got their special which was steak with onion and pepper over white rice with a gravy and it was delicious and the meat tender. Then the empanada was amazing. Well...

This is by far the best Puerto Rican restaurant I have ever been to. This is real authentic Puerto Rican food. Usually when I eat at a Puerto Rican restaurant the food is not that good especially when it comes to Puerto Rican pasteles. The pasteles in this restaurant taste and are made the real authentic way.
