Pagliais pizza offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere, along with a friendly staff that strives to make your dining experience enjoyable. However, the high prices and lackluster pizza left me feeling somewhat disappointed.
Let's start with the positives. The ambiance at Pagliais is warm and welcoming, with comfortable seating arrangements and a pleasant decor. The staff members are attentive, accommodating, and always ready to assist with a smile. Their friendly demeanor adds a positive touch to the overall dining experience.
Unfortunately, when it comes to the main attraction - the pizza - Pagliais falls short. While the quality of the ingredients is decent, the taste and execution leave something to be desired. The pizza, reminiscent of a Tostitos pizza, lacks the wow factor that one hopes for in a pizzeria. The flavors were underwhelming, lacking the depth and complexity that can elevate a pizza to greatness. It simply did not live up to the hype or the price tag attached.
Speaking of price, this is where Pagliais truly misses the mark. The cost of the pizza seems disproportionately high for what is ultimately an average dining experience. While quality ingredients and a pleasant atmosphere are important, the value for money aspect should not be overlooked. Unfortunately, I found the prices at Pagliais to be rather steep, leaving me feeling slightly disappointed and wishing for more bang for my buck.
Despite its flaws, Pagliais does have potential. With some improvements to the pizza itself, such as enhancing the flavors and ensuring a more satisfying taste experience, the overall dining experience could be greatly elevated. Additionally, a reevaluation of the pricing structure to offer better value for money would be beneficial.
In conclusion, Pagliais pizza offers a friendly and inviting atmosphere, along with a staff that goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome. However, the high prices and underwhelming pizza prevent it from reaching its full potential. If you're looking for a cozy spot with decent pizza, Pagliais might be worth a visit. Just be prepared to pay a premium for an average...
Read moreChose Pag's over Quatro's and was sorry we did. I was meeting friends and my daughter and arrived first. I told them I was meeting someone and they hadn't arrived so I was going to use the restroom. When I came out and went back to the front to be offered a table, no one ever assisted me. When my friends arrived, still no one to greet us. My friend is in a wheelchair and we ended up seating ourselves. We arrived right after a pre-game rush and our waitress said we had perfect timing. There weren't many other customers, so we thought that she was right. The food took forever. The waitress told us the pizza crust was soggy due to the tomatoes, but my friends said the taste wasn't quite right. It was good, just different, so the soggy crust didn't help with this opinion. Long after their pizza arrived, my lasagna finally arrived. It was not visually appetizing and turned out to be very salty. When the lasagna arrived, the waitress said the garlic bread would be out shortly. I ended up having to call her over and ask about it, telling her I would like my bread with my lasagna. Honestly, why would garlic bread take so long? She brought it quickly, but it was also disappointing. It looked as if they had run out of bread and used sandwich buns or something. I would have thought the bread would have been of higher quality. We were there over an hour and a half and the wait was unacceptable. I expressed that we were disappointed with our experience and had chosen Pag's over Quatro's. She apologized and expressed her gratitude we came there, but never offered to have the manager come and talk to us. I live 2 1/2 hours from Carbondale and doubt I will ever go to...
Read moreOn 7/5 the a/c is STILL not working. They should post it at the door. Our service was so prompt, we had our order in before we realized the ac was not functioning properly. I wanted to leave then, even though we'd ordered, but my husband refused. They should post it at the door that the a/c is broken. Staff said it's that way on every summer day, every summer. When the heat is excessive, going out to eat is supposed to be an escape into the cool. I feel we didn't get what we paid for since the place was so uncomfortable. Our pitcher of beer didn't stay cold very long, it was that muggy. If they can't keep their a/c going consistently, they need to close for the summer. When I mentioned it to the cashier, he said it's hot everywhere. Staff seemed completely unconcerned that customers were sweating; but it's not their fault management is too cheap to fix the a/c properly once and for all. I certainly won't be back until winter, if even then, since they don't seem to care that they ripped us off with their uncomfortable, humid atmosphere. There was also trash on the floor, such as cellophane cracker wrappers and napkins: slipping hazards. If I was a dishonest person, I'd have slipped on the trash and be seeing them in court. That said, the pizza was great. Best bet would be to get a carry out pizza, take it to the Cellar, and enjoy it with some cold beer in an establishment where you can count on...
