updated I go into this place often for growler fills now that I have been in town a while.
I honestly do love this place it's got a great atmosphere wonderful beer selection and an overall good menu.
I have an egg allergy so I don't eat here very often but my children love their burgers.
A year so ago I wrote a negative review here because I have an egg allergy and they couldnt promise my food would be egg free.
They don't necessarily cater to my egg allergy but they're very friendly and have a lot of other things that I enjoy so I want to update my review to match my experience.
original review
I went to this place expecting a great burger in a fun little town. Sadly, they couldnt even tell me what ingredients were in there food. I have a food allergy and not knowing the contents of your food is unacceptable.
When I asked that they cook my food in a separate pan, they told me that they would use the same spatula and so forth so no matter what I'd get cross contamination.
The waitress was flippant and apathetic to my allergies and treated us pretty much like trash.
Overall the menu was pretty lame, the customer service was non existent and I felt as if I was a burden rather than a valued customer.

Read morePortlanders here for a lunch visit with an out of town guest along after reading positive reviews. We were disappointed and a bit sad. Our server was outstanding first off. But we were not too impressed about the food for the price. It's the height of summer produce right now with farms all around here, but hothouse tomatoes and no other fresh veggies plus thin sliced deli meat and cheese in the chef salad, and offering ice tea from the fountain vs brewed underwhelmed us. I suspect breakfast might be better though. The seating area and bathrooms are the rustic you would expect for a gas station cafe, but you know what you're signing up for when you arrive, and again, the service was very friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, the other customers in the cafe were talking loudly about how they wished Carlton could go back to the good old days when there weren't outsiders like tourists ruining their town, and also loudly about their political stands, and although we kept to ourselves, we didn't feel welcome or comfortable as a result. I think this may be more of a...
Read moreWhile working in this little tiny town with huge history, we dined in the little added on exterior room. I got a hamburger which was not cooked all the way through & the waitress would not give me any kind of credit or discount. She just said well next time let us know right away after I had taken a bite and my boyfriend took a bite. We found that it was very pink And thought we heard some moo’ing. However, on the brighter side, the only bright side here those tater tots are bomb. Also, my boyfriend got the heel of the toast 😩with his chicken fried steak dinner which the steak was not that that great, but the heel was very disappointing no discount no nothing for that … only thing good about this place was the tater tots. Will not...
