Mr Jalapeño — Restaurant in Carmi

Usually service is pretty good. Waitress got the two girls plates completely wrong! My friends G.daughter's a hamburger without cheese and fries. Lol I don't understand how they ALWAYS get that wrong, plus it's always burned. My friend got a cheeseburger with three toppings lol completely wrong plus she got fries and didn't ask for them. If girl could speak more English maybe she could have got it right. And my elderly friend whom took us out for lunch, got like polo ranchero or something... second time ordering it,,..I don't think we will be going back there for awhile. My older friend sauce on her plate was not fit to eat. Yuck. Which again she didn't eat it. Aaaand old lady,,.. probably Grandma or Momma at cash register didn't ask how my meal was or even knock off some bc of all the crap we had to deal with and still get bad food on one plate.. which to me is just BAD BUSINESS! And technically this restaurant is way worse than other Mexican restaurant in Carmi IL. Tequila's is and was a really good restaurant...damn. Not cuz of Mr Jalapeno lolol sorry Grandma if you had took off some total off bill would have been freaking awesome since it would have been Better Business especially in tiny town of Carmi...

I give 4 stars with some reservation. My wife and I ordered: Choose your own combo. You can order two or three Entrees, we ordered three and split it. We ordered two burritos and an enchilada. But before we did that we ordered an appetizer, it was a Jalisco, not positive on the spelling, but it is a bowl of cheese and meat and peppers to dip your chips in, my oh my, it was almost a meal in itself, it was wonderful. The burritos, however, were just basically hamburger wrapped in a tortilla shell, the hamburger did not even taste like it had been seasoned. And I mean it was just ground beef, no cheese, or sauce, nothing but a little bit of sprinkles of cheese on top of the burrito and that was it, hence, the 4 stars with some reservation. Our waitress was friendly enough and took our order promptly, but we didn't see her again until she brought us the bill. But we didn't need anything so that was fine. It's basically the same family that runs the Guadalajara in Grayville, Il. They're good people, I just wish they'd put more than just beef in...

My husband and I went for lunch, we both ordered the same thing. It was called the enchiladas banderas. he ordered his with chicken, and i asked for mine with ground beef. When they brought the food out, his order was completely wrong. they gave him 3 cheese enchiladas and a huge piece of chicken on top, which is not what he asked for. My order was wrong too, i specifically told him 3 times i want ground beef in my enchiladas and when i got my food, the enchiladas had steak in them. Both of our orders should’ve been $13 each. Instead they gave my husband the wrong thing and charged $18 for his. The food was awful, not what we asked for, and we got charged way more than we should have.
