New China Buffet — Restaurant in Carmi

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!! This has been the 3rd time we've eaten here in the past year. All 3 times they have only had half of the food out and the food that is out is old and cold. This time we decided to say something about it and she refused to put new food out and said that the cold sticky noodles were fresh. We did not expect them to fill all 3 bars up with fresh food so instead we told them what it was that we wanted to eat we then waited 25 minutes and they had still not put any fresh food out so we then decided to leave. We went to the cashier to tell them that we were not going to pay full price for the old food that we only had taken a few bites of. The lady that was working said that we only had to pay for one plate. When we told her about our complaints once again she acted as if we didn't already have the same exact conversation prior. She then responded to us by telling us that we were wrong and also laughing about our concerns about the pathetic excuse for a buffet that they have. And the lady that I am talking about with the horrible attitude and terrible customer relations just so happens to be the owner. It wasn't just a manager treating the customers horribly it was the owner. This is one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. And on another note our table wasnt even wiped off whenever we were sat, we had to wipe it...

Was passing through and looking for a bite of lunch. My wife and I were the only ones there when we arrived. This establishment was not clean. There were lots of tables that had not been bussed. The restroom was filthy. The food on the buffet tasted like it was old and had been sitting out for quite a while. Most of the offerings appeared to be store bought frozen and not freshly prepared. One of the staff members bumped into me rather aggressively with a container of food to restock the buffet without saying anything at any time and didn't apologize even. A center dining table right up front had a load of green beans that I guess were being processed. A couple other tables of diners came in a little bit later, but it seemed no common courtesy was given to them either. If this is the quality of the food and demeanor of the staff, then we won't be considering it when we make our regular trips...

My Wife and I are visiting Carmi from Atlanta. We started craving chinese food and saw this place driving through town. Don't let the humble exterior fool you, the inside is homey and well maintained. The staff is quick and efficient. It has the feel of a family run place. It might be the only Chinese option in town, but it's a really good one. The food is everything you would expect from a Chinese Buffett, but done better. Seriously, when we travel, we always go to some random chinese buffett in whatever town we're in and it's usually disappointing. This one isn't. It's in my personal top 2. Plus free WiFi.
