Jack in the Box — Restaurant in Carol Stream

So this is a fair review based on the week or so it's been open, there are a lot of kinks still to get through. One, this place is not built for the amount of people going here now, because it's still new, with that said, at 4:30pm we went inside to eat, waited about 20-30 minutes to order and another 20-30 minutes before they called our order (3 people, 2 burgers, 1 chicken sandwich, 4 tacos, fries and drinks).

During the wait, I noticed there was a lot of staff in the kitchen area and 3-5 working outside, first, everyone there was nice, I have no complaint there, but what I also observed was the ones working outside, stood at the door and greeted people with mini menus, but no one was cleaning the tables off or fixing the cones for the drive-thru lane, they didn't seem to care, too bad on that point.

Now, the real point of this review is the food. I got the bacon double smashed jack combo, there wasn't an option for a side of tacos, but the manager told the cashier to just put fries and tell the kitchen (he did, but they still gave me fries, but corrected it after we brought it back). The burger was good, fresh patties and seasoned well. My wife got the double jack combo, which was barely warm (but the fries were hot), waiting as long as we did, everything should be hot, but it wasn't, why? So 1 star taken away. The spicy chicken sandwich was also hot and the tacos were what you'd expect.

I might revisit this place when all the newness dies down and it should be a better experience...

WHO RUNS A BUSINESS THIS WAY? We came opening night (Sunday) and waited in the drive-thru for half an hour to order our food and another twenty minutes to get it. Annoying, but we understood - opening day, new employees, lots of customers, sure. We came back at 1:00 pm on Thursday, and it was the same! Long, motionless drive-thru line so we went inside. It was jam-packed, complete chaos - and someone at the door handed us a menu with all the items crossed out they'd run out of, and it was a lot. There are people hanging around the parking lot, I think security to handle crowds, but also maybe because of the union protest out front. When McDonald's opens a new location, the people are well-trained, they have all the supplies they need, there are few problems. This is a nightmare. Don't open a fast food place until you're ready to serve the public. There are half a dozen other fast food places within five minutes of here we can all go to. Think of the hundreds or even thousands of negative first impressions you've made in just the first few days. My wife had been looking forward to going here ever since she heard about it, but if we ever come back, it will be at least six months from now. It'll be your last chance to get us hooked as customers. Do you think you'll have things straightened out by then? I...

The wait is really long, took like 30 mins to get the food from the drive thru. It was long and each car took like 3 mins to get out. The driveway design is really bad... the food is surprisingly good. Got 3 jr bacon cheeseburgers and 4 tacos for 12 bucks. Jr bacon cheeseburgers were amazing, the bun was toasted with butter and it tasted just like the Son of Baconator with the ketchup and mayo... for 2.79 each! Was a lot of food, tacos were good too in their own weird way... the tostada is a little stale, they used a sliced piece of American cheese, but it hit. The prices...
