This mom and pop hidden treasure serves up some very yummy and very satisfying bowls of hot steaming Pho! Don’t let the small size fool you, the food here is downright delicious. The dining room has four tables with two to three chairs each. If you have a larger group two of the tables can be combined to create a larger table to accommodate about six people. There was a large group of six people dining when my husband and I walked in. There were two smaller tables available and we sat at the one with the two chairs. If you plan to eat in or have a larger group it might help to call ahead.
We placed our order at the counter. I ordered the Combination Pho and a Pork Puff Pastry and my husband ordered the Brisket Bahn Mi, a Pork Puff Pastry and a Cream Puff. I enjoyed looking at the vintage decor as I was waiting for my food to arrive. For a moment I felt like I had stepped back in time. The overall ambiance was of a time gone by. I felt like I was being served food in the dining room of a family member or of a good friend. It felt warm and inviting, peaceful and unhurried which made the entire dining experience more relaxing and pleasant.
Once the food arrived it was time to dig in! I thought the Pho was PHOnomenal, as the broth was light, and very flavorful! The noodles were of the right texture and in proper proportion to the broth. I didn’t need to add anything to the broth which is a sign of a very well prepared broth.
My husband said he enjoyed the Brisket Bahn Mi sandwich. He commented on how soft the interior of the bread was in contrast to the crispy, crusty exterior. He liked the amount of toppings inside the sandwich and felt like the sandwich was tasty. We both enjoyed the Pork Puff Pastries and would order them again. According to my husband, the cream puff was pretty good as well. We truly enjoyed our visit and will definitely visit again sometime in the...
Read moreBeen stretching out to gain more comparisons of my favorite Vietnamese Pho and Banh Mi. This place has a high rating and so I went ahead to try it out. First off, very, very, basic menu. Very simple and that's a good thing because this is not over complicated food. I order a Grilled Pork Banh Mi and a bowl of Beef Brisket Pho. Service was great. The owner had the kitchen work on my Pho while he made my sandwich upfront. The bread was freshly toasted just enough to crisp up the crust and warm the tender interior. This place is small and nicely decorated. Very clean and comfortable. Glad to see there were customers coming in to order Banh Mi sandwiches to go. Order 5, get the 6th one free. And apparently the brisket and Vietnamese ham are the go to choices. I went with the grilled pork which is my favorite and a bowl of Beef Pho with brisket. My sandwich came first and it was toasty warm and so very well made. Generous meat and fresh vegetables with some butter.....WOW!!! Warm bread with the grilled meat and butter! WOW!!! IT WAS GREAT!!! And a very pleasant lady came from the kitchen with a tray with my Beef Pho. Very courteous. The Pho came in a black bowl that was very solid and the broth had all the right aromas streaming around. Piping hot and flavorful. A basic simple bowl of Pho that I really enjoyed. That bowl stayed hot to the very end which made it wonderful. I love how Banh Mi Dalat is keeping it simple and comforting. The next time I stop in, I'm exploring their brisket and Vietnamese ham via Banh Mi sandwiches. There's something about seeing people buying several sandwiches that says something good is going on here. Could it be the butter???
FYI: I am not compensated in any way by this business and I gladly pay for any food/services. I'm sharing my opinion freely and hope you will have a good experience with...
Read moreAs soon as you are greeted by the delicate harmonies of classical music, the familiar aroma of toasted bread quickly follows behind. The interior is so beautiful it invoked a audible 'wow'. 10/10 for the interior design.
I ordered the Combination Pho, which comes with sliced brisket and Vietnamese meatballs as its protein. I am not a Pho connoisseur by any means, but I would of liked it more if it was more acidic and tangy, than the mellow and slightly sweet broth it offered. Presentation was beautiful and it was by all means good.
For the sake of the length of this review, all I will say about the pork pastery is that there is very few ways in this world to get THAT much value out of your hard earned 1.75.
Now for the Big Tonka T brisket Banh Mi. Lord in heaven. I have committed an sin by paying them only their asking price of 5.65 or whatever nominal fee it was. I struggle to find the words for it. The bread, with its thin, almost croissant-like crust had a sligh pull and chew, perfectly complimenting the ever so gently brined carrot and onions. The finely pulled brisket itself was warm, dripping with juice, and perfectly seasoned. Fresh, large cuts of green bell pepper and cucumber provides an enormous, satisfying crunch brings completeness to the privilege that was this Banh Mi.
The service came courteous with the gentleman working the front and a smile from the waitress. This location is local, not a franchise from what I understand, and deserves all the tips and...
