My friends and I ate here before a work training. I'm originally from the rio grande valley and was excited to try a restaurant that had similar food that I miss eating back home. I enjoyed my horchata but was surprised to get a refill when I didn't ask for one and the first serving I got was way too much. I'm just happy I wasn't charged for the refill but felt bad it went to waste because I couldn't drink it. The chips, salsa, and queso were good. When I got my order of caldo de res I was very disappointed that all the vegetables in my soup were not cooked. I couldn't eat them at all and it made it very hard to eat my soup. The beef was good and tender but at that point I had lost my appetite and couldn't eat anymore. The rice was hard and crunchy some bites. I tried taking the caldo with me in a 64oz drinking cup to see if I could boil the vegetables at home but since they were raw it made it impossible for me to put the soup in there as well. I was with my elderly mother and did not want to delay our meal by sending it back. Anyways, I was able to fill myself up with the tortilla chips and rice and beans in the tortillas. When the server brought the check, I pointed to all of these vegetables that were inedible and she just went back and got me a fresh plate, which I took to go, which I guess was nice but should have been done the first...
