Edit: I went back about 6 times and am more disappointed every time I'm there. They keep on changing their menu and the recipe to make things. My favorite drop noodle soup now tasted like processed food with store bought noodle instead of restaurant made. Their extensive menu causes their quality to go down Unfortunately I've given this place enough chances and won't be back.
Edit: I went back multiple times and am not quite impressed with their new menu anymore. They cannot decide what they want to be. Initially it was Vietnamese Food with some very unique dishes like the vegan bun bo hue. Now they are a chinese restaurant with a few basic vietnamese dishes that no longer impress me. We have tried a couple of the chinese dishes and am just not impressed anymore. I might still go back for the drop noodle soup but other than that it's no longer my go to lunch spot.
Went to the soft opening for lunch with a friend and the food was delicious. The food takes a little longer to come out because they are still trying to figure it out but not an issue. The staff was attentive. I had the drop noodle soup and it was quite delicious. They had a really good ratio of meat and quite a bit of real crab meat. The noodles looks like a homemade noodle with a chewey texture better than expected. The broth was flavorful.
My friend had vegetarian bun bo hue which i had a taste and thought it was delicious as well. Definitely going to try some of their vegetairian items next time. They have some decent items for vegetarian options.
The place is clean and trendy with very taseful decor, not what you expect from the strip mall that it's in.
Two things i thought they could improve on. 1: fresh bean sprout tasted like it's about to go bad, better quality control of fresh products. 2. The lemon grass saté tasted processed. Perhaps try making fresh lemon grass saté instead.
Will be back to try other things on the menu. Hopefully they change up and add a new item once in a while since menu is very limited so i can go back and...
Read moreWe were very excited to try Kin's. I'd seen ads on Instagram and the interior looked very trendy/Instagram worthy. However, one of the chairs at our table was very dirty and had to be cleaned. Some of the plates and spoons were dirty/greasy as well.
The menu was a bit confusing. I think they could narrow down some of the options.
The drinks- sugar cane and lemon lime juice soda - were very fresh and tasty. The food, however, was not what we expected and one person said that it was similar to Panda Express quality.
The pho came out first and it didn't come with the vegetable toppings. Usually it comes with the soup and its not necessary to ask. We agreed it was tasty but not worth the price.
The shaken beef was too salty and overcooked. The person who ordered it is Vietnamese and said that the recipe wasn't what he was used to, and for me it tasted more like Chinese black bean sauce than Vietnamese beef.
On a positive note..the flat stir fried beef noodles were not too salty and the meat was cooked well. It was pricier than other places, though.
As someone who lived in China, I feel like the Chinese dishes were average for the price and yes, they were done better than the Vietnamese dishes... but still many dishes fell short.
I hope they can make some improvements to the menu and cleanliness, because when you walk in, it's clean cut and looks like a fun spot that we would normally enjoy if we'd had a...
Read moreWe came in to try this place because of IG videos. This place is a complete disappointment. We ordered beef flat noodles, Bo Ne, Mi Quang, egg rolls, spring rolls, and egg coffee. 1 - there was no egg coffee today when they just opened so we got regular coffee. It was watered down and flavor was bad. 2 - the beef in the beef flat noodles was very chewy and tough, usually this should be tender, flavor wise it was decent. 3 - the Bo Ne was overall bad. The Pate tasted rotten and expired, the meat cube was tiny and rubbery texture. My wife had to send this back because it was so bad. 4 - the Mi Quang was bland and the noodles was all broken into little pieces. There was not even a single strand that was long. 5 - egg rolls was bland and we discarded them 6 - spring roll was decent but you really can’t go wrong with basic pork and shrimp spring rolls. 7 - there was mold growing out of the chili sate jar, we informed them about it but they didn’t really look phased by it.
I usually don’t write reviews as I just don’t come back when it’s the is bad but I felt warranted to write and tell my experience to counteract fake reviews now and days. The staff never even came out to apologize or anything about everything which is fine as we won’t be coming here again and will not recommend this place to any of our friends...
