Just had the worst experience at this establishment. I have come here a few times during my lunch hour for work to eat. I was actually grabbing an espresso next door when I had to use the restroom. The little coffee shop next door didn't have a bathroom so I went over to La Villita for a quick moment. Upon leaving, an employee stopped me and told me very rudely that since I'm not buying anything that I could not use the restroom. I let her know that I would be back for my lunch hour and I come there often. She then goes to say she has never seen me before. I let her know I work very close by. Still, extremely rude so I just let her know she does not have to ever worry about seeing me again because I will not need any service that treats customers in this manner. I also asked her that she would've denied me the restroom if I really had to go abruptly? She replied with yes. I am currently pregnant and felt nauseous but I didn't see fit to let her in on my business. She then says as I'm walking out that she didn't care. I asked her again what did she say, she said she didn't care. I told her that she was rude and I didn't care either. Lost a...
Read moreIf you are planning on ordering the torta cubana, you might want to rethink that decision. The bread was soggy and it barely had ANY meat on it whatsoever. The meat wasn't enough to cover the bread, and most of it was actually blubber, with large chunks of iceberg lettuce as filler. Very disappointing considering the price. I found it extremely unappetizing. They do have decent Pazole Verde, but they also tried to add a bunch of iceberg lettuce to that as well instead of cabbage, and they must have been out of sliced radishes and cilantro. You would be better off going to the Chinese restaurant next door tbh.
In response: I was told it would be 15 minutes until it's ready...I was there in 10. I was not late picking it up. The worst part was the fact that you are extremely skimpy on the meat. I've never had a cubana with that little amount of meat in it. Maybe you should go to other places and order them, and see how it should be made. No excuse for that besides being cheap. People should be aware that they will be given the bare minimum when ordering at...
Read moreI’ve eaten here once before about a year ago and it wasn’t horrible. Since returning, I have noticed the large Price increase which I understand is due to how we vote and what is going on in the world. I don’t understand what’s going on in this part of Texas, but being from Houston, we enjoy Baracoa as a staple. This is the second time up here in the Dallas area. I have ordered Baracoa and it has been red, & tasted like roast beef. I would bet a dollar that they are not using traditional beef cheek meat and are using some kind of chuck roast to make this. To put it simply, I was very disappointed in having to pay $18 for Red shredded beef tacos when I ordered Barbacoa. The rice was not bad, but the beans tasted like wood - I’m thinking they’re dehydrated like Taco Bell. Also, you can only order corn only or flour only tortillas; you can’t get a combination of both...
