Tipico's — Restaurant in Carrollton

I ordered for take out around 1:00pm on a Wednesday I went to the one in Beltline Rd. In Carrollton . . And it's not the same like it used to be 7 yrs. Ago Food was flavorful and better service .. I go in and it's raining cats and dogs put my order in because their phone is not working to call my order in. I walk up to the cashier desk and no one there, I have to scoot to the side for waitresses to see me ... She finally comes over and asks if it is for here or to go and I said to go ... An $8.50 special came out to almost $20 due to a large Horchata which also does not taste the same like it used to, and extra flour tortillas which I regret getting, in a word everyone can understand chiclosas and undercooked ... (Chiclosas very chewy like gum) Well I know one place I won't be spending my money from here on is Tipico's ... Another Mexican restaurant that is across from them has way better food and their drinks are not almost $6.00 ... It's 1/2 the price for way better tasting aguas and for the same amount. Sorry but this food and place is not the same like...

Carrollton location is awful. My fiance always wants to eat there and I always tell him to just order it as take-out. They have extremely awful service. I gave in yesterday and we ate there only to prove myself right, yet again! Our food took forever to get to us. Other people came in and were served before us. After we finally got our food, the waitress never came back to check on us or refill our drinks. I needed to place a to go order for my mom and the waitress never showed up. My fiance was headed for the counter to see what was going on and as he turned the corner all the waitresses were huddled up behind the counter talking. Two of them saw him and still no one came. He returned to our table and told me to call the order in. So I did and told them to bill it to Table 21! The waitress asked, "you're here?" I said, "yes and no one has come to check on us so I had to call you!" They didn't apologize or acknowledge their lack of service. I will never go back. I prefer the long wait at the Northwest...

I wish I wasn't on a diet. I would eat there more often. I think their service and the food is better than their location on Northwest highway

Took a friend of mine who's the owner of a restaurant there to dinner. He is from El Salvador and said he thoroughly enjoyed his meal.

I had him order for me in Spanish. In he agreed with me. Why do Mexican restaurants want to put chili sauce on beef enchiladas and cheese sauce on cheese enchiladas!

I had him order my beef enchilada with cheese sauce in my cheese enchiladas with the chili con carne.

I don't think of ever had bed service their. They follow up with plenty of refills and ask if you need anything else. Very attentive. However it helps if you speak Spanish

I can't tell you anything about the rest of the menu because it's what I always order. It would be a staple from my diet if I wasn't on a DIET.
