Las Palmitas Fruit — Restaurant in Carson

We arrived at 8:45pm to buy some food. Their Google and Yelp pages says they close at 9:30pm. Their neon "Open" sign was on and the door unlocked. We walked in and weren't told they were closed. A man took our take out order, although begrudgingly. We ordered half a dozen tamales de elote, a biónico, 2 mulitas, asada nachos, an agua fresca, and some duritos all to go.

We sat down to wait and a female employee started talking mess and didn't think we could hear her. She said they were already closed, that she had already cleaned the kitchen and stored the knives and we walked in, and that she wanted to go home. That thanks to us, she was going to have to rewash everything and be late going home.

My husband asked her. "Is there a problem? Because if there is, cancel our order and give us our $60 bucks back and we can leave." She apologized and said she wasn't talking about us. That the owner knows they close at 8:45 but hasn't fixed the pages online to reflect that and she was frustrated with him. That she saw us sit down and thought we were dining in and that made her think she would go home really late...blah.

While she was busy making up b.s. to appease us, two more customers walked in and they were forced to also take their order 🤣 Maybe next time they should lock the doors and turn off their lights before 8:45 when they're trying to leave early. Or simply say, "We are no longer taking orders tonight." Simple.

The food was good as usual, but the service is lacking. I always go to buy my mother tamales de elote because they're her favorite. But for how pricey the items are, you'd expect better service from staff and better coordination of staff with the...

TO THE OWNER OF THIS PLACE!! I've been coming to this place for a couple months now, I always get the tunas and maybe some tacos, torta or menudo and everything is good. With that said, I have to agree with almost everyone leaving an honest review, most of the girls are awfully rude and they seem to never be in a good mood, poor things. The place does have a bad smell but I guess they've gone nose blind or they simply don't care. Delicious food, but their service is horrible! Expect to wait long, deal with terrible customer service, rude cashiers, and your all time favorite forgotten meals. They answer the phone whenever they feel like it. Just today 10/26/16 I had to call like 20 times before they finally answered but there's nothing else around here and I had already ordered other things. Love their food hate their service. Wish there was a fast food place around here to replace them. Lines are always out the door. There's barely any parking.
