Having grown up in the midwest, and playing baseball most of my youth, there are five things that just go naturally together to me. Chili Dogs, Root Beer, Onion Rings, a good time, and Dairy Queen. I had taken my younger brother to Duke for a treatment on his eye, and we were heading back home toward Swansboro on Highway 40. We'd been on the road for a while... and hadn't eaten since that morning. So we took the exit for Cary Towne Blvd, and decided to get a bite to eat. There were a ton of choices... but there at Walnut Street one caught my eye... It was the Dairy Queen Grill and Chill.... It was dusk, it had been a long day, and little brother after his treatment was having a bit of trouble focusing. The crew was absolutely amazing with him... and guided him through the ordering process. He ended up ordering his favorites, a Brazier Burger, Onion Rings, and a Diet Coke. My turn... two Chili Dogs, an order of Cheese Curds (((a midwestern favorite I didn't expect to find in the heart of North Carolina))), and a sugar free Root Beer. I was impressed how clean the place looked behind the counter. The service was awesome with a capitol A, and my Chili Dogs were off the charts great!! The Cheese Curds were every bit as good as what I used to enjoy as a kid after baseball games as I dipped them in the marinara sauce, and enjoyed my ice cold root beer. That Brazier Burger and Onion Rings must have been mighty good also because little brother inhaled them... and was treated to a Blizzard for desert. I loved the experience. And next trip up toward Raleigh or Durham, I will definitely be back. Over the years I've been to a lot of Dairy Queens, and each one has it's own unique character... but I have to tell you... This one.... this one... really was one of the best!! Back to my travels.... see you at my...

I am incredibly pregnant and really wanted a blizzard so my fiancĂ© took me to this DQ last night. We ordered our blizzards, paid with a card, and went home. When I got home I looked at the receipt and realized the person working the drive through had tipped themselves 20%, I was never even asked if I wanted to tip and honestly Iâm not tipping a drive through worker anyways. I called and asked for a manager, the person I spoke to said they were the manager & seemed to not give a single shit that their employee literally stole from me. But said if I came back in they would issue me a refund for the money that was stolen from me. So I drove back today, 15 minutes from my house, asked for the manager and it was obviously just a shift manager who again didnât seemed to care at all. She gave me $3 in cash. Itâs the principle of the whole thing and the tip was $3.65 so I told her I wanted my 65 cents also, like this is literally theft the LEAST they could do is give me the total amount they stole from me. They did absolutely nothing for my inconvenience and Iâm pretty sure nothing will be done about that employee stealing from me if I kept it in house so I called corporate also. I was a shift manager at a chain restaurant while I was in school so I know they could have done more and should have, but the way they handled this was incredibly subpar. My blizzard...
Read moreThe place itself was pretty good, so I was there with my friend and we both had the same stuff but on two different orders, first they placed it and a few seconds later I came and was paying, but my card could not go (it was my fault), but the manager came and resolved a problem quickly. After we paid and a couple minutes after my friend got his ice-cream. I however didn't. I waited about 10 more minutes and there still was no sign of my ice cream. I came to the staff and asked them where it is and they said that it's coming. I waited 7 minutes later, and finally my ice cream came. I was pretty disappointed in the service, because my friend by that time was already done. Maybe it was just that day that it happened, but that's what happened to me and I am just...
