My wife and I JUST left this place. We requested two orders of wings. We were told only one order was available and that the person who ordered immediately before us took the other order. We were not offered something different at a similar price. When we asked about the amount of time before more would be ready, we were told two hours. We ordered one wing dinner. Four of the six pieces of chicken were COLD. I learned that when I bit into it. I am currently reheating it. The chicken had good flavor but the skin was rubbery and I couldnât bite through it with my teeth so I had to remove the skin to eat it. It feels like it was reheated in the microwave so maybe it wasnât fresh. The fact that the wings were cold makes me think it definitely wasnât fresh. My second side was cole slaw, but instead they gave me potato salad and I didnât know until we were already leaving. The potato salad is good. Iâm pretty sure itâs store bought. It tastes similar to Amish style. The baked beans have a weird taste. They taste like they have ginger or some other non-traditional seasonings in them. My husband and I were in transit, but we will never go back. If w werenât traveling, we would have turned around and went back. Very disappointing. I hate to be extreme. Maybe it was just an off day. We turned around after seeing a sign. I wish we would have saved the money and went...
Read moreThe food is wonderful and I had a great experience when dining 2 years ago, but be warned of the unstable approach the owner may have to travelers looking at the abandoned amusement park after hours. I had no idea that this was off limits and innocently decided to stop and stretch our legs and look at the scenery on our way to Georgia with my 11 and 12 yr old siblings and my 1 yr old and 4 yr old. We didnât destroy anything, we didnât take anything, paint anything and we were greeted with the owner screaming, cursing and already on the phone with the police citing âFOUR PEOPLEâ who were majority, quite literally children. He was so riled up, and kept going to the back of his truck, I honestly feared he might pull out a weapon, I want to emphasize he didnât but that was definitely the atmosphere he created. I apologized to the man when he pointed out the signs to me, it was an honest mistake, and I completely understand wanting to protect whatâs yours. But I would use a little more common sense when I see actual babies before going to the extreme. He specifically screamed âyou better not leave a bad review for this place over this!â and I didnât plan on it but here ya go. An honest review. Food is great, the owner needs therapy. Keep...
Read moreExcellent Food!! You can tell walking up that it's gonna be good. Smoker out back and smell of smoke in the air. I couldn't decide what to eat so I ordered three different meats and they were all fantastic! I had pulled pork, brisket, and ribs and a side of cole slaw. Unfortunately he was out of sausage, but I couldn't even finish what I had. Good portions and well worth the visit.
Edit 1 year Later: Haven't been through here for over a year and I forgot just how impressed I was with this little place! This go around I had a pound of brisket with baked beans and potato salad. I eat at little bbq stands and bbq restaurants all over the country and I have never had a better plate of brisket. Perfect smoke flavor, unbelievably juicy, great flavor on the bark, fat render was excellent, just the PERFECT brisket. Everything was amazing, definitely worth the stop!!
Another year has gone by, and this is still the best place to get some BBQ! This man has absolutely mastered his craft! I told him Iâd bought a smoker and hadnât mustered up the courage to try my own brisket yet ($100+ chunk of meat if I mess it up) and he even gave me some suggestions as to how he achieves his perfection! Super nice fella, stop in and let the food...
