Coffee, Etc. — Restaurant in Castle Shannon

I am an Pittsburgher- born and raised but currently live on the other side of the state. I was visiting family this last weekend and was in the need of some coffee and a quick breakfast. I also brought my boyfriend to meet my family, so this was not just any visit. My cousin told me there was a cute coffee shop down the street from her, that she never tried it but it always looked busy. Let me tell you. I want to move back to Pittsburgh just so I can come back to this shop. I ordered the avocado toast and an iced vanilla latte. My boyfriend (not a coffee drinker, trust me his only flaw) order the triple Ciabatta. We were in heaven from the first bite. The avocado toast had the best flavor of any toast I have ever had. The spice was just right and the thinly sliced cucumbers was a welcomed changed to most toasts. My boyfriend said his sandwich was delicious- meaty and filling. The coffee, although simple, was creamy and the vanilla flavor was natural tasting- not cloying or artificial. It was simply an enjoyable experience. Edit: 2 years later and new owners and my wife and I still frequent Coffee, Etc. regularly. It's our go-to coffee shop. Drinks are excellent and the food is great, even things I don't generally get while eating out (avocado toast) are a step above here and worth it. At this point I have had many items from the menu and while some are better than others (havarti avocado breakfast sandwich 🤤) I haven't ordered anything that left me feeling disappointed.

I am not a traditional coffee drinker. I do love a good dirty chai latte though and theirs is the best. I've only ordered food from their menu once (breakfast sandwich), but it was very good. From what I remember their menu is mostly light breakfast and light lunch stuff, nothing crazy but it all sounds good. Friendly, easy-going service. This place is something else. Ive been here about 12 times in the past year and a half. Every time with everyone I brought with me this place has been great and the food phenomenal. Its prices are great for the area and the coffee is awesome. I always get a mocha but I see this place has plenty of regulars. They are very supportive of the local community. Like I enjoyed this place enough to write a review even though I was about to not bother because they already have 4.9 stars and it is deserved. I didnt get around to looking at the one star review and I may for entertainment because whatever that persons problem was it wasnt with this place. Maybe they were having a bad day.
