McMinn's Irish Pub — Restaurant in Castle Shannon

Not a bad bar, seems like it could be a good time. It was my first time being there, I met up with friends who are regulars there and I've heard a lot of good/bad stories about the place.

When we got there for wing night around 9pm the bar was pretty dead, there was 5 of us in our group and maybe 4 other people in there. When we sat at the bar to order the bartender was nowhere to be found waited 15 mins before she came out from the back, and she was TRASHED! She could barely take orders and even charged us for an extra drink that was supposed to be on a friend's tab.

Ordered wings and they took almost an hour an a half. Two customers before us were waiting at the bar said the bartender kept disappearing and took so long they cancelled their order of wings and left. Wings were really good, a little too crispy and dry on the ends, if they were pulled out just a few mins earlier and the would have been the perfect crisp, but still amazing! Not sure if someone else made them or if it was the drunk bartender.

We still made the best of it and still had a great time. Seems like a nice place but I don't want my bartender trashed at 9pm and unable to keep track of people's orders...Hoping that my next experience is a better one and I can...

It was my first time being in the area and decided to stop by McMinn's, wasn't disappointed. Very affordable drinks and we got two sliders which had nothing to complain about.

It was quiet at the bar and it seems to be when it's not karaoke, so its a nice place to sit down and talk, but it's not "dead" quiet, I liked it.

The bartender was very nice and attentive and made us feel very welcome, when she heard I never had ranch before because I'm not from here I had the pleasure of a nice plate of fries (really good fries by the way) and some ranch lol. Too many bartenders at other places aren't very talkative (understandable when it's busy), and the woman behind the bar made us feel like we were actually welcome that day. Five...

I’ve been going to this bar for years now. Every employee and the bartender of this bar are amazing and friendly as well as the owner of the bar too until I found out a guy named Greg(manager who does drugs) is so racist. He told me and my friends that he’s the manger where he’s drinking shots and beers at his working time. He just don’t have any manner at all to take good care of his customers. And also I saw these guy deal drugs inside the bar to his customers. Me and my friends used to go there and have a good time every weekend until and he always have a problem w us everytime. So I think if your colour is not white and if Greg is working, this bar won’t be a good place...
