When I got to this Starbucks it was about 6:15 AM, the two ladies behind the counter were in a corner talking about their earnings while I stood in front of the empty register. After 1 minute or so I told them I was sorry to interrupt and asked if I could get a cappuccino. The younger lady approached the register with a bad attitude. She was acting as if I was bothering them. She did not say "hello" to greet me nor said "thank you" after she got my money. This is not a good way to start the day, is it? Does Starbucks train their staff on customer relations at all?? Then, she made my drink but let it stand by the espresso machine. She fixed the drink for the next customer after me but she served his drink first. I'm not sure if she did that intententionally or if she just did not care. Either way, this was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had in a while and I've travelled far and wide to places like London, Paris, Amsterdam, Portugal, Canada, Rio, Equador, etc, etc. I don't expect people to perform for me or to be over friendly but a simple hello and thank you would be nice. I felt sorry for the two ladies behind the counter because either they hate their jobs or they seem miserable and angry at life and that reflects in their poor customer service skills. Read moreApparently at this Starbucks location, they can serve Hot Coffee, but not Hot Water. Go Figure! I stopped by this location on a cold Sunday Night and asked for a cup of Hot Water. The barista handling customers responded with "they are not allowed to serve Hot Water b/c it's a liability issue."
She went on to explain that no Starbucks is supposed to give a customer a cup of Hot Water, but it's up to the discretion of the Starbucks location as to whether or not they will.
It's strange to hear of such a policy all of a sudden, being that for as long as I've been ordering Starbucks (which has been over 10+ years) not one barista has ever said no for a cup of Hot Water request. Every reply has always been, Sure, what size would you like?
In fact, the next morning, I visited another Starbucks and was able to successfully get a cup of Hot Water, no liability issue expressed from that...

If someone took my drink because of a pre-order, they never give me a problem. My drink always tastes delicious unlike some of the other locations I go to wear a sweet drink, like a white mocha, is bitter instead!! 😕 Now who wants THAT?! But these people actually get it, or at least it seems they do. I believe the only time I have ever had to wait on my pre-order drink is if they are swamped with people because it's a holiday or someone grabbed it.
