I just can't comprehend how people love this place. The food is bland and the service is atrocious. Having lived in this area for decades, I've given this place many different opportunities to show me what everyone raves about. I have never had a good experience here, not even at the original site which I first visited when I lived in crown point and had people telling me this was the place to get great Mexican food ( early 2000s). My last visit was several years ago, my daughter had won a ten dollar gift certificate from the Lowell library, so we decided to, again, give it a try.... It was the last time we ever set foot in this establishment. We ordered some basic dinners; tostadas, tacos, rice, beans, margaritas and a soft drink. Our waitress came, took our order and she never came back. The food and drinks were served by other staff and we never had any further service. I actually had to go up to the cashier and tell them we needed our check because our waitress never returned. The food was bland and the service was the worst I've ever had at a restaurant. If you want Mexican food head to any other place because this place...
Read moreBartender/server was very friendly however the food was a mess. Couldn’t recognize that this was supposed to be Mexican food as the shrimp chimichanga was more like a cheese smothered shrimp wet burrito minus any flavor that would lead you to believe it was supposed to be Mexican food. Pretty close to a bland shrimp mess smothered in melted kraft American cheese in a soggy tortilla. Would have brought it back and really detested having to eat it. But it was a to go order and I was starving. Basically picked out the bland shrimp (only edible part of the so called chimichanga) and ate the beans and rice. Which were also bland. Usually this place passes semi-well for Mexican food and their prices are not out outrageous but today was an absolute F on flavor. I would have been better off spending the 12 bucks at Taco Bell. About the same amount of authenticity and flavor between the two judging from what...
Read moreHad heard some good reviews, but it didn't really live up to them, so maybe it wasn't the best night for them or my expectations were too high. There were some french fries in my pork fajitas, which seemed a little odd if intended, but I'm thinking it was by mistake. The portions were nice and the balloons for V-day weekend were a nice touch. We liked that we could run here and they could accommodate us without a wait while anywhere else is a solid hour wait on the busiest date weekend of the year. Overall, though, the food was just OK and not on par. Sorry, Mi Ranchito, I may give you a second chance and give an update sometime, but with so much other really good Mexican fare in the surrounding area, I'm just not sure if I'll...
