[This review is strictly with regards to service, NOT the food] My family and I decided to celebrate my father's birthday only to end up having some of the worst service I have ever experienced. Let it be known I have over a decade of experience in the restaurant business as a server and our server Gustaco C. was completely unwelcoming, unprofessional and maybe might have even been stereotyping. From the very moment he opened his mouth he was cold, dry and seemed annoyed and/or bothered he had to take another table. I was actually shocked on how abrupt he was. I have been in similar situations especially under-staff but that is no excuse to basically be board-line rude to a table and make them feel unconformable. I would have never been able to get away with the kind of service Gustaco C. was providing, I would have been fired a long time ago. Seeing how there were only two workers on the floor that night I will officially blame higher management and ownership for not properly staffing and having the waiters overwhelmed. My father attempted to provide constructive criticism at the end only to face a defensive and antagonistic response. I would have given one star review BUT the mere 30 seconds of our experience we had the Sofia the food runner gave you guys the extra star! Make Sofia a waiter and get rid...

Quite often my boss, colleague and myself dine.. (I mean used to)... dine at the restaurant. Unfortunately, the past three experiences have been less than satisfactory. My boss has ordered the same lunch meal each and every time he dines there, yet the last three times the order came out WRONG! Not to mention the woman waitress continually yelling across the restaurant (to get patrons attention to ask questions) assured us that although the meal was incorrect the past two times it would come out satisfactory if not better this time around. Seemingly enough, fifteen minuets later, wrong! You would think she would have A. Checked if the order was correct B.Made sure to make an special* notation to the chef... Guess not!! My colleague was unsatisfactory with her burger as it was barley cooked. Myself unsatisfactory because I could barley taste my chicken penne as it was so salty I lasted three bites. In short, there is not a plethora of people that dine there during lunch hours, there is really no reason to not be able to check that an order is correct or not before being delivered to the patron. It's actually quite ridiculous in such a small establishment orders come out incorrect.

Read moreDelmonico Steakhouse in Cedar Grove is a hidden gem. The food is actually phenomenal, and the service is spot-on. The owner, Brad, is a wonderful guy who truly cares about the dining experience.
I have to give a special mention to their General Tso’s chicken. Growing up in Rutherford, I used to frequent Village Gourmet for General Tso’s made by Bobby Wong—it was my favorite as a high schooler. After moving to Cedar Grove, my wife and I decided to try Delmonico. When I saw General Tso’s on the menu, I knew I had to order it, and after the first bite, I instantly recognized that amazing taste. Turns out, Brad’s wife Caidie is the daughter of Bobby Wong, and she’s brought her father’s famous recipe here. As Brad put it, “When you have such a great recipe, why would you ever change it?” I couldn’t agree more.
The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, the steaks are cooked to perfection, and every dish shows a true dedication to quality. Whether it’s the nostalgia of an old favorite or the excitement of a perfectly done steak, Delmonico is a dining experience that delivers every time....
