Shipley Do-Nuts — Restaurant in Cedar Park

I called ahead and ordered about $60 worth of donuts and breakfast sandwiches for an autumn themed donuts and coffee for the office. I specifically chose this location to support local business and because it was convenient for an early morning pickup before driving to the office in downtown. Unfortunately when I got to the office after a 45 minute commute, I discovered they had sat the warm and heavy breakfast sandwiches on top of the iced donuts in the bag they handed me. The icing was melted and stuck to the top of the box 🥺. I called the store and let them know what happened (Donuts 101 says don’t put the donuts on the bottom!) but hey, it’s early and we all need a little grace.

The owner of the store was very apologetic and thanked me for calling so he could right the error. He insisted on making it up to me and drove fresh donuts to my downtown office immediately. It’s tough out there folks! I was baffled at such an error but he was happily determined to make it right so I accepted his offer. Kindest man…learned he and his wife live across in our neighborhood. Y’all we gotta help each other by understanding and leave our entitlements behind. It’s a donut not a severed limb to get enraged about like I see in some of these reviews. Now go try one of those new scrambled egg, bacon, and cheese...

10 stars for customer service. Today I went through the drive through and ordered (or so I thought) 6 assorted donuts, 2 dozen donut holes and 3 kolaches. The gentleman went and prepared the order and came back with two HUGE bags of donuts. "umm... wait, no. this is not what I ordered." Apparently he thought (or I said) that I wanted 6 dozen and I apparently was charged $75, when I thought he said $17. Yeah. When I explained the mishap, he was quick to get me the partial refund and correct the order. I know that had to be a pain in the butt to him, and I'm sure part of it was my fault, because he repeated my order back to me AND told me how much I owed... and it wasn't until he handed it to me where I was like "wwwwaaaiiiitttt......" And he still graciously helped me. And for that, I'll be a customer for life at this...

I edited my review after receiving a quick response from the owner. I'm a. Business owner myself, and I'm always willing to give a place a second chance. And Shipleys has amazing donuts!! Thanks for taking the time to respond to my review, it really mattered.😊

My previous review is listed below: Decided we wanted to try Shipley's for first time and drove up in drive thru...waited 10 minutes to get to window and the guy just stared at us. When we asked for menu to order he said they didnt have a menu. He stated they had been only open a year and a half so they were still waiting on menus??? How does anybody order let alone a new customer order?? The menu isnt a simple one...Left and went to donut shop where there is a menu with item...
