Bruegger's Bagels — Restaurant in Cedar Rapids

Despite there only being two employees, and them clearly being a little stressed, I was still treated with amazing service. They got my order taken once I was ready and even went in the back to grab more bagels for my order (I hadn't realized they were out of them up front, but they were polite enough to go grab some instead of asking me to choose something else). It was nice and clean, a comfortable atmosphere, and a pretty good price for a bagel sandwich and a bag of chips, to where I had no problem tipping more than my usual 20%. And to top it all off, as I was waiting (which wasn't very long), one of the employees offered me a sticker from a jar. I'm not a child, but I sure got the excitement of one when I was offered. I usually try to leave nice reviews cause I get it, lots of moving parts but this is ridiculous. I go in and whoever is running the till either can’t hear or can’t operate his machine. I order a western sandwich, no cheese on an onion bagel and a sriracha honey sunrise on an everything bagel. After waiting I get called up for only one bagel—okay I’m a good sport I kindly say my order now for the fourth time and it feels like I’m getting somewhere. I take my science experiment bagel and wait some more and finally get my order, only to get home to one correct order and a stupid everything bagel with honey sriracha smothered all over it. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! I have been going to the Mt. Vernon road location for a year now. Always great customer service until today, July 8, 2022. I walked in on my phone (yes very rude of me, but hey I did it) and the gal behind the counter stood there for a good 4 minutes. At first I thought she was making to-go orders so I waited but then she was doing nothing. Finally I asked if I could order and her response was “yes, I was just waiting for you to get off your phone.” I was shocked and said ok, never mind then in which she replied with “ok, bye.” Clearly she is not cut out to work with the public. Unfortunately when working with the public in the food industry you have to be able to serve all kinds and this gal settled it for me, I will never step foot back...
