I lunched today at the Salsa Guy Cafe, and the experience was a unique one. The sandwich was excellent, but what makes it special is the story behind it. Once upon a time, way back in the 1980s, there was a beloved lunch spot, Alfalfa's Deli. They served a sandwich with a unique dill spread that had a devoted following, but sadly, they closed. Oh well, one might say, another special dish lost to the mists of time. And it would have been if two enterprising young men hadn't desired their favorite lunch so much that they reverse engineered the dill spread and duplicated the sammie from memory. Fast forward 40 years, and today, one can savor this long lost luncheon treasure. I will readily admit that I cannot remember the flavor of a sandwich I enjoyed 40 years ago, I quite honestly don't remember much at all of that era, but I can say without hesitation that the sandwich is delectable. Available in a variety of configurations, three different breads, three meats, and five cheeses. All sammies come with cucumbers, red onion, tomato, fresh alfalfa sprouts, and (of course) the legendary spread. Today, I had 12 grain, honey ham, and sharp cheddar. The sandwich is generously proportioned, and every bite made me want another, I was planning on taking half home but ended up with only a quarter left! They also make in-house potato chips that are perfect when fresh. Most of us don't get freshly made potato chips, and they are completely different from the bagged variety, a must try. I will return for certain, not only for this sandwich but also for their Conquistador chicken sandwich and highly rated burrito. Another review is coming up, for sure! If you are of the age to remember Alfalfa's Deli, then you simply must go. If the 80s were a little before your time, then it really is still a fantastic choice for a delicious...
Read morePhenomenal, a word big and tremendous such as Phenomenal describes this place. If I were to recommend you to go some place to eat I would likely recommend here, and let me tell you why.
Such a place like this deserves 5 stars for various reasons including the atmosphere, service, and food. The atmosphere is amazing, small on the inside however very, very kind staff that genuinely care about you and your experience. A great variety of drinks to choose from and a healthily portioned menu. The staff are very welcoming and friendly; cordial you could say, and whilst ordering we (my group) were given a free side of potato chips. Now these potato chips weren’t any chips, they were homemade, with a mixture of soft and crunchy, absolutely delectable.
The burgers here are amazing as well, with some improvements to be made. Whilst the burgers here are great, they could definitely use some more flavor on the patty, and there is no honey mustard here unfortunately so you don’t have anything to dip the burgers in, however, this doesn’t make the burgers or place bad in any way (though honey mustard would be nice) as they have great service here, a great atmosphere, and an assortment of food and drink options to choose from. If you had to choose some place to go, choose the Salsa Guy Cafe where fantastic...
Read moreI had heard about this place on a FB group with good reviews. So I figured I would check it out. I drove there as they do not take online or phone orders. I ordered the conquistador burger with a side of homemade fried chips. Oh, everything is alacarte. I also got some of their homemade salsa and chips. the burger is big, no, ginormous, huge, crazy big. But it was fantastic. Very filling, super yummy. Highly recommend the burger. The fried chips were very good so I recommend them as well. The chips are excellent. The tequila lime salsa was good but does have some pretty good spice to it. The place is pretty small but decent. The cashier was nice, great up seller. It seemed pretty chaotic when I 1st went in and everyone seemed to be outta joint but the food came out pretty quick, was well cooked and worth the trip. Definitely check it out if you haven't already. They have a smaller menu but seem to be well thought out. Try it. I stopped her on a Tuesday about 415 and ordered their burger of the month, the 4B burger. It was super yummy with great taste, lots of different flavors harmoniously playing upon each other with great texture. The chips were still very good. Highly recommend this place as it is excellent food with seemingly fresh ingredients. The food was well prepared and came...
