Bushwood Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Cedar Rapids

This is one of the absolute worst dining experiences. At first I was on our servers side as she had a large group with zero help (basically showing the management of this place doesn't care if their servers are in the weeds). After she started having a very bad attitude with our group (everything from blaming us for needing drinks...including the aggressive "I guess you can have a new drink now", saying she didn't take her Adderall, blaming the printer in the kitchen, telling one person she doesn't care since she gets an automatic gratuity and the list goes on). She took orders more than once, forgot an entire table in the "party room" (wasn't really a party room, just a section of the restaurant). It took two hours just to get food. She never apologized only blamed everything around her. I do believe she was thrown something she couldn't handle and a manager should have assisted but we saw no one else all night. We warned this restaurant over a week ago about our group and they accepted. This is not a place I will ever return to or recommend. The food was fine, just regular bar food. The kicker is the irony of the server wearing a "this ain't my first rodeo" hat, when it clearly might have been. Just...

This is a full on sports bar with a nice menu of bar food. The food is very good. I am a big fan of their super nachos. They also serve broasted chicken which is also very good. My only negatives would be the service, the timeliness of getting food out and bussing of tables after diners finish, pay and leave. All of these are hit and miss. In regards to service, it generally has always been fine. Never blown away great or overly inviting. I don't remember any experience where I was surprised at how soon my food came out but I have had a few experiences where it has been kind of slow. Also in more than one occassion I have been surprised at the number of uncleared tables and spots at the bar that I have seen when entering the restraunt and how long it takes them to finally get them cleared. I have never had to sit at a dirty table or had any complaints in that regard. It just looks bad. All in all the food is great, the beer is cold with multiple options and there are plenty tvs to watch sports...

First thing I thought was that the place could use a little renovation. Bushwoods looked kind of worn and the parking lot has a couple of potholes that need filling.

The place was pretty busy when I got there; no surprise since it was Saturday evening. If you go there on a weekend and you order food, expect to wait. The service was fine but they could really use some extra employees to help manage the orders better.

The server who went around my area was pleasant and helped out promptly when a guy accidentally spilled his drink. Props to her for efficiency and courtesy.

I only ordered some cheese fries and they were quite tasty. The ranch sauce was a welcome accompaniment to the dish and the fries didn’t skimp on the bacon. I had considered getting the chicken nachos but the sheer size drove me away (something like that ought to be shared among several people).
