Godfather's Pizza — Restaurant in Cedar Rapids

Good pizza.  Been going there with the family for years.  I HIGHLY recommend them.  We typically order take out.

Pizza - We had one bacon, one half pepperoni, and one half cheese.  The pepperoni was buried under cheese (not common), but was still great!  The bacon was a good balance.  There was plenty of cheese on all the pizzas and it was cooked just right.  It was a thinner dough, but plenty soft and filling.

Taco Pizza - One of the BEST!  Comes with a ton of toppings and they are fresh.  Taco Pizza is always messy and difficult to eat, but there is no way around this.  Grab a napkin.  No regrets!

Gluten Free Pizza - We ordered this with pepperoni for two of our family that are gluten sensitive.  It was average.

Breadsticks - VERY soft and fluffy.  Cooked just right.  It was a touch lacking in full bodied flavor, but not by much.  There was a strong garlic flavor, which we like.  It was great with the sauce.

Looks like they carry Millstream soft drinks.

Service: WOW!  They are smiles.  They made sure to offer a better deal than we asked for.  By adding breadsticks, we had more than $20 off our bill!  They were super helpful and exuded awesomeness!  We have had little to no issues getting our orders right.

Atmosphere: Has an old 40’s to 50’s prohibition/gangster feel while maintaining an absolutely family friendly experience.  There are old 90’s arcade games, gumball machines, booths, tables, and artwork to fit the whole experience.

They also have a notice on their front door, “NOTICE: The Second Amendment is Respected + Protected Here!”  I had a chat with the staff about this.  Not only is this the case, but they are very active in pursuing a welcoming atmosphere for those who carry.  It sounds like the local gun club regularly stops by after practicing.  Bravo!

Conclusion: HIGHLY recommend stopping by or ordering take out.

This place has gone down hill over the years! I called and placed a delivery order the girl that answered the phone seemed like she was distracted or something she kept asking me to repeat what I didn't want on my pizza and she still got our order wrong after I repeated everything 3 times! She kept laughing the whole time she was taking our order! Very unpleasant and you should not have people working there that are bothered by answering the phone! The delivery driver was awesome that's about the only good thing! When I spoke to who I'm assuming was the manager she was kind of rude I was angry but I thought I kept my composure very well but she was like I can hear you get hostel with me well I had every reason and right to be that way ! The pizza was blah, the sauce was spicy my husband and I are now sick and not feeling the best the crust was not edible because it was hard as a rock! The super sticks were almost burnt I don't think we will order from here again! $52 for food we couldn't even eat just not acceptable! Ordered 1 of 2 pizzas with extra sauce. It was delivered as normal pizza with extra taco sauce packets. Pizza was still good, didn't use taco packets, but was not the way I ordered or like my pizza. I have ordered this way in the past before COVID-19 without any issues. Pizza was also delivered luke warm. Not an issue as I microwave a few seconds to make it just like coming out of their pizza oven.

Main reason for rating of 1 was pizzas were delivered by person not wearing a mask! How inconsiderate to me as a customer. I answered the door wearing a mask and called the store to see if drivers were required to wear them. Was put in contact with the owner and he said no, they are not required. I told him I will take my business elsewhere.
