JW's Pub and Grub — Restaurant in Cedar Rapids

Have been to this bar quite a few times never have had any bad experiences until this new bar tender got hired she’s bad quite a bad attitude the last few times we have gone in she is pretty skinny with brown hair. Last night my boyfriend and our friends went outside, his brother just got a new bike and we wanted to hear it so he was riding around the bartender came outside screaming walking around up front causing a massive scene when we realized she was talking to us we told him to quit he quit and went home she had come over screaming at us so we followed her inside and closed out our tabs while we were inside she proceeded to scream at yell at us saying “that’s how coos get called” and a bunch of other stuff. After we had closed our tabs and left we were standing in the parking lot trying to figure out where we were going next when a regular customer proceeded to start screaming at us to leave that we were causing a scene, mind you the so called scene she is referring to us all of us standing by our vehicles talking about where we were going and or doing next when she started screaming the bartender came outside and proceeded to scream at us again belligerently when she started screaming at us we call sat there and said we just trying to figure out what we are doing next she then proceeded to threaten to call the cops because we were causing a scene when none of us were doing anything but talking about a game plan. Had the bartender decided to act like an adult and just come and simply have an adult conversation about him riding his bike none of the screaming would have happened but instead she decided to make a scene by walking outside screaming at us instead of walking up to us and having a simple conversation. I’ve never seen a bartender so disrespectful in my life and not know how to have an adult conversation without accelerating things and causing the scene that ruin a perfectly good night! High recommend not going there until she no longer works there she is ridiculous and if she is adult enough to be a bartender serving alcohol she should know how to have a conversation respectful. I've always enjoyed this place's beer prices and I've never had a problem at this place until last night (on 2-15-16). I was drinking beer and enjoying my time and everyone knew that I wasn't causing any trouble. Then, Damian, a bar tender here asked me to leave or he would call the cops because I was supposedly asking him "personal questions" and asking the other employees to ask him personal questions too. If I was doing such a thing, wouldn't everyone know? Or was he doing this cause I talked to a girl he liked? I left, but came back to use the restroom. The girl I was talking to approached me and told me to apologize to him, so that he'd let me stay. I used the restroom, then apologized (for doing nothing!) by saying, "I'm sorry about whatever I did earlier to offend you". He said, "YOU WERE ASKING PERSONAL QUESTIONS AND EVEN ASKED ONE OF MY EMPLOYEES TO ASK ME!!!!" I said, "Excuse me, I did no such thing and if I did, don't you think everyone in here would know about it since I'm talking loud enough for anyone to hear me? Are you drunk?" He said, "GET OUT NOW!!!! I HAVEN'T BEEN DRINKING AND I'M CALLING THE POLICE!!!!" He was drinking on the job, but I didn't argue it. So I just left, but I think he called the police anyway cause he was out of control, and I won't be going back to this place when they have someone as unstable as Damian...

Place is called JW's Pub and Grub. Very nice local bar. Next to the community college. Lots to do while you're there, pool, pinball, trivia, slots, darts. Several screens to watch your favorite show. A nice little patio that would be nicer to use at night. There is a kitchen with some good looking food coming out of it, I did not have any on this visit.

Update: still open and doing pretty good, stopped in after a meeting at Kirkwood College down the street, had a few drinks, watched a little sports...
