Possibly the worst pizza I have ever had - look at the picture and tell me why anyone would pay for a pizza like that. Very little cheese, pizza was barely cooked. And the owner was the one doing the baking... inedible, unhealthy, gross, like it was made by a six year old. I don't understand how a place like this can stay in business much less be busy. No spices, just bland tomato sauce everywhere, very little plain mozzarella cheese, doughy uncooked crust. I usually give places two tries, but I am never going back. Plus all of the counter staff couldn't have even been 18 years old, the restaurant was dirty, poorly laid out, poorly lit, and everything looked uncomfortable and unhappy. I'm very confused about the positive reviews and can only assume they're family and/or staff of the restaurant, because no one could enjoy this horrible pizza. I'm guessing they only stay in business because CR is very short on non-chain pizza places, or something. But this is ridiculous, don't give...
Read moreRoscoe's used to be one of the Tomaso's locations, and they still sell basically the same pizza. It's basically Tomaso's for the West side. And if you know anything about Tomaso's, you know that means greatness. The thick pizza with the caramelized crust, which Tomaso's calls Detroit, is called MoTown at Roscoe's. They have Chicago and New York crusts too, just like Tomaso's.
But there are two things Roscoe's has that Tomaso's does not. The first is a "best of both worlds" crust they call Brookville that is thin but still had caramelized crust.
And the second unique factor is that there is a ton of really interesting baseball paraphernalia at Roscoe's. Old equipment, old pictures, autographed stuff. I actually excused myself from the table to look around because ... well, because I just HAD to, if you understand what I mean.
TL;DR: Great place, wonderful pizza, plus lots of cool distractions for...
Read moreOk, I normally am not one to leave reviews but I am shocked by the pizza we received tonight. This was our first time trying it because a coworker said it was fantastic pizza. When my husband brought it home he said that we needed to cut it because it does not travel well if cut. Ok, strange, but fine. My husband put it as flat as he could in the car but when we opened the top everything had slid over and honestly it looked like they made cheesy bread and threw toppings on it. The crust was very soft, no crispiness to it that you expect from a pizza let alone a thinner crust. The crust had very little flavor and there was almost no sauce on it. We couldn’t move the toppings back centered the way it is supposed to be. Honestly, Bops will forever be my go to pizza spot. We are so disappointed and for 50 bucks for a pizza and cheesy sticks, it is...
