A Hidden Gem in Celina – Millie’s Italian Restaurant** While exploring new neighborhoods, hunger struck at the most inconvenient time—4:30 p.m., with the kids demanding pizza. We found ourselves in the middle of nowhere, where everything was at least a 30-minute drive away. A quick Google search led us to Millie’s Italian Restaurant in Celina, just 14 minutes away, and since they had pizza on the menu, it was an easy choice. At first, we assumed it was just a takeout spot, but to our surprise, it had seating, and the kids were eager to dine in. The restaurant offers a full menu, covering everything from appetizers to hearty lunch and dinner options. Our server was incredibly kind and attentive, starting us off with garlic knots—warm, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Even though I wasn’t particularly hungry, I had to try one, and I’m glad I did! Having grown up in New York and experienced countless Italian restaurants, I’ve found it challenging to discover that true, homestyle Italian flavor in Dallas. But Millie’s proved me wrong! We ordered a half-cheese, half-vegetable pizza, and the flavors were spot on—authentic and satisfying. My husband opted for the soup of the day, which was perfectly seasoned and rich in flavor. Beyond the food, what made our visit even more special was the nostalgic decor featuring iconic New York City buildings. It sparked conversations about fond memories of NYC, a place that still holds a special place in my heart. Millie’s is truly a hidden gem, and I highly recommend it to anyone craving real Italian flavors in the Dallas area. We had a fantastic time, and the kids left happy and full—definitely a must-visit! Looking forward to our next trip. **Ciao!**

Once I got past the phone not working and rolling to voicemail (I told the owner when i got there and she wasnt aware of the problem) So I decided to drive there and place a to go order and my wife and i both agree that the Food was amazing. First time here and it will be going into the rotation. I'm so happy that we have a great Italian option in Celina. We had Mias Marsala, Chicken Francese, cheese bread and houses salads with a connoli for dessert. Good flavorful dishes, the chicken fell apart and was cooked to perfection. We were so happy that everything was well prepared, and tasted great. We can't wait to try some other options as well. Wish I would have taken better pictures, but trust me the food was great.

This is a quaint little Italian bistro that has a good selection of Italian comfort foods made to order. The taste and presentation were wonderful and considering the size of the restaurant the put a lot of care into their customer service. We enjoyed our selections and found the wait staff super helpful narrowing down our tastes. The garlic knots were exquisite and I took them home. When I heated up my leftovers (the portions are large enough to satisfy and have some for tomorrow) they were just as good if not better than the day before. I highly recommend this fine establishment, they may be 7 months old but they are doing the work of a pro place that has been around for a decade.

After several friends raved about how awesome Millie’s is we finally decided to give it a try. My husband and I arrived about 6:15 pm there may have only been one or two other tables. We were promptly greeted and seated at a cozy booth. A friendly female server took our drink order. Within a few minutes a guy dropped off our drinks and a bread basket. He took our order (two house salads, John’s style lasagne, baked ziti with Italian sausage). With our server nowhere to be found for at least 10 min we finally asked the original server for our salads. She apologized and brought them to us. We finished our salads and still no site of our server. He finally came out and apologized for “forgetting our salads”. By this point we had been there for about thirty min. Again we were wondering where our food was. The restaurant was not busy and we were this servers only table. We asked for some more bread and asked on the status of our food. He told us it he would check (it was obvious that that is when our order was starting to be prepared). When he came back my husband asked if this is normally how service and food comes out since this is our first visit. The server seems confused and said I told you sorry for forgetting the salad since he was in the back speaking to Millie. My husband said ok but is this standard for service and food…again explaining this is our first visit and try to understand what to expect. The server just stared at my husband ..so the husband stared back. Then the server stated my husband was getting aggressive (which didn’t happen…) my husband stated no I am trying to get an answer to my question to which the server stated yes this is how it is. My husband then said he wanted to speak to the manager or Millie. He said Millie wasn’t there and no one is the manager. To which my husband said what? The server finally said I told you I forgot to put your ticket in I am sorry (which is what we really just wanted to know). He walked away and the person who sat us came over to apologize and stated the meal was on them. Two min later our food came out. My lasagne (if you can call it that- as others have describe it’s two noodles stuffed with some sort of meat product. The portion was a 1 in x 2 in size smaller that a standard piece of cake) was cold and unedible. The baked ziti was terrible…could have gotten better at a college cafeteria. It is so sad because we were excited to support a...

If you're on the hunt for a restaurant that feels like a delicious secret waiting to be discovered, look no further than this authentic gem. Nestled away from the typical tourist spots, it’s one of those places that truly surprises you the moment you walk in.

The ambiance alone gives off a cozy, inviting vibe, and you can instantly tell this spot is cherished by locals. As for the food? Simply spectacular. Every bite feels like a journey straight to the heart of its cultural roots. I had the lunch special, and it was the kind of meal that made me forget the world outside—bold, flavorful, and made with love.

The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, treating us like family rather than customers. It’s the kind of place where you can tell they truly care about the food they serve and the experiences they create for their guests.

If you're in the mood for something truly authentic, this place is a must-visit. Whether you're popping in for a casual lunch or planning to linger over your meal, you'll be leaving with a full belly and a smile.

Definitely coming back soon to explore more...
