Food is typically good, especially the pies. But trying to order delivery, which is usually how I get it because I only work in Celina, is touch and go. Usually it's fine as long as you don't have too much food, but every once in a while it turns out disastrously. Tonight was one of those nights, and it's gonna be a while before I try to order from here again, to say the least.
I received my order at 6pm, but it was missing a slice of pie and some home fries. I called to ask them to send it over. They said the home fries weren't on the receipt, which was true but I explained that I had asked for them and had given them enough money to pay for them, plus a tip. They said they would send them along with the pie and I figured all was settled.
A full hour passed and I called again to see where my food was. They argued with me again about the home fries, despite telling me they would send them. Then they said the delivery person was on her way and should be there any moment. OK.
Another half an hour passed, during which a piece of pie was left unceremoniously in the front lobby without my knowledge of its existence. So, I called once more and had ANOTHER lengthy conversation about the fact that the god blessed home fries were not on the receipt during which I was quizzed on how much money was in an envelope that contained the payments of four other coworkers. All I know is that I included $10 to pay for my meal plus a $2 tip for the driver. I'd finally had it and angrily demanded either my food or my money back, I didn't care which so long as I did not have to spend another minute talking to these people.
In another half hour, a full 2 HOURS after I called to ask for the food that had not been given to me the first time, the delivery driver finally arrived and I had to hear ONE MORE TIME that the home fries were not on the receipt. Fortunately, she didn't hold them for ransom and I was abe to eat my greasy fried potatoes in peace.
Moral of the story is make sure you MAKE them read the order back or any mistake THEY make is gonna be considered your fault and you have to argue with them for hours over a side order of cheap potatoes that you already paid for.
Personally, I'm just gonna make my own damn pie next time and skip...
Read moreWonderful reviews abound on the website. I based my dining choice on them, much to my chagrin. My order that day - French toast , bacon well done and orange juice. Shortly after receiving it I told the waitress that the French toast was undercooked and could I please get another order. She looked at it hesitantly, turned and took it away. When the next order of French toast was placed in front of me. I asked for butter and reminded her that I would still like to get some orange juice. She came back with the juice and by then I had taken a bite or two from the edge of the French toast and told her it was good, seemed to be perfect. Unfortunately, I had spoken to soon. As I neared the middle, the undercooked wet dough like gooey, slimy texture was reminiscent of my previous order of French toast which I had returned. By now, my taste buds were weary and I had resigned myself to the fact that breakfast wasn’t going to be a part of my day. I placed my fork down ever so gingerly next to the quagmire that stared back at me from my plate. Upon seeing the waitress again, I explained to her that once again the French toast was still gooey. With that being said her response to me was well that’s how French toast is. With a somewhat confused look on my face I stated perhaps they dipped it in the batter too long. No, no, she assured me that they just dip it quick. She even went as far as to show the motion with her hand at how fast and limber the cook could work the bread through the batter. Amazing as that visual was, I knew in that moment whose side she had chosen……. the cooks. She would have no more to do with this ol’ gal. My thoughts concerning french toast had fallen on what seemed now to be deaf ears. With that I picked up my bill that was lying neatly waiting to be paid. $17 and 16 cents later breakfast is over and my...
Read moreGreat breakfast selection. Tried the Western omelette. Cooked perfectly. Friend had eggs Benedict. Very good. Coffee cup stayed full. Excellent service. Another breakfast there weeks later. Same great experience. Revisited 9/28/23 for lunch. Really good chili soup made thicker than normal the way I love it. Bacon cheeseburger with the works was delicious. Fries were hot and crispy. Since the remodel, the floor plan is basically the same but the place looks more up to date than before. Biggest improvement is the restrooms which were tiny before. Now they are spacious and very clean. Ann was our waitress and her service was phenomenal. Very attentive and friendly. They also have the best pie around but I had no room for any this time. Next time I will indulge for sure. The only minor issue would be the sound inside. We had a large table with 5 or 6 older ladies next to us who talked very loudly and would laugh so loud we could not hear our own conversation. Not sure this is The Bay's issue as much as the other customers who need to limit their volume. Maybe some acoustic panels would help mitigate the...
