I came in there tonight with my 3 kids and I must say I have never been so humiliated in my life. First of all, when we came in the hostess asked us if we had reservations and said that since we didn't, all they had available was two "community tables". Weird since there were plenty of tables open but whatever. The bus boy brought us bread and water and our sever came by and asked us if we wanted anything else to drink. He then proceeded to go over to the hostess and whisper something to her and they both turned and stared at us like we didn't belong there or something. After being our drinks, he came by in a rush to say that he may or may not be our server depending on when the person we were waiting on gets there. While we waited about a half hour for my husband to join us, he never once came back by and checked on us or anything. In typical toddler fashion, my one year old was getting restless and was talking loudly. She was not screaming or out of control. When I noticed that she was getting restless, I decided to order her dinner while we were still waiting for my husband. However, our server was no where to be found and no one seemed too interested in helping us. The next thing I know, some man comes up to our table, does not introduce himself or anything and proceeds to tell me that "she is bothering people". I would have expected someone who is "management" material would have introduced himself and asked if there was anything he do for us since it was obvious that my daughter was upset. Because of the way I was confronted, I told him we would just leave. His words exactly were "you don't have to leave if you can get her to be quiet". What kind of so called "professional" speaks to a customer like that? How about having some compassion for a mom who was clearly a little overwhelmed with a hungry toddler? I completely understand that people do not want to hear a crying baby but is this the proper way to handle a situation like this? I picked my kids up and left in tears as it was absolutely humiliating. I hope that you are able to teach your staff some compassion and tact. I guarantee if this behavior continues your establishment will not be in business for very long. I also hope that parents with young children read this and thing twice before coming...
Read moreSemplicemente STRAORDINARIO!!! As newcomers to the Denver community, my wife and I have not had much opportunity to experience the local restaurant scene. Arriving here just before the pandemic closures, we have relied heavily on home cooking and the occasional door dash orders for quick meals. However, for my birthday on December 26, my wife invited me to select any restaurant in the City and we would either go or have the meal delivered. Having spent most of the day driving around in the mountains, I did not feel like going anywhere for dinner but it was time to make a choice on what to eat and from where.
Before I continue, there are 3 things you should know about me, I love Italian food, I am a food photographer, and I love Italian food. So choosing what to eat was easy, where to eat was the hard part. Unfamiliar with the local Italian dining options, my attention was drawn to the name, "Farro." It sounds familiar to one of my favorite restaurants in Dallas, named Ferraro's, and it also reminds me of one of my favorite cars, the Ferrari. I thought what could go wrong?
We ordered the Tuscan White Bean Soup, Linguini with Clams, and Grilled Eggplant. I took just one bite from each of these plates and I said "Honey, this is the BEST BIRTHDAY MEAL I HAVE EVER HAD!" I kid you not! The flavors of the soup are exquisite. Perfectly blended, and savory. The Linguini is no doubt handmade and cooked perfectly al-dente. The clams are fresh, tender, and abundant. The Grilled Eggplant with portobello mushrooms and mozzarella are perfectly cooked and the fresh tomatoes are seasoned just right. And, while not quite the foodie that I am, my wife was most delighted by the addition of "Smarties" in the delivery order as this is one of her favorite candies from her childhood days in Canada.
Christmas may come just once a year, I celebrate my birthday just once a year, but I assure you that Farro Italian is now on the list of restaurants we will visit multiple times a year.
Thank you, Farro, for a simply extraordinary meal. I thank you, your Chef, your cooks, and all of your staff for making this the best birthday meal I...
Read moreABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Just moved here from Kansas City and was looking for a good Italian Restaurant not too far away. WOW! I was really impressed with this place. Its in a plaza - but don't let that fool you....once inside you enter a romantically lit cozy environment. I tried the Strozzapreti - Chicken and it was very delicious. They do a nice job getting the food out in just the right amount of time - allowing me and my fiancé time to converse a bit and enjoy our drinks and warm bread first. We can't wait to go back and try some of the other items on the list.
06/16/2024 - Just went back - food and service still amazing. One thing to note - which really disappointed me. Boxed up 3/4ths of a pizza - my leftovers and walked out to the the car and turned right around and walked back in because I realized I forgot to grab my pizza box - and they actually threw it in the garbage!!!!! Slow down! Seriously? The front hostess stand is an entire wrap around empty counter space. They didn't think to place it with her and if we didn't come back in 5 minutes then throw it away? I paid like $20 and it wasn't even saved for me for 1 minute :(. So basically i threw away $20. If they ask you if you want a box and you box it up and they see the box on the table - then obviously you didn't intend to leave it. Should be common sense. Also at fault me forgetting it even...
