B&B Cafe — Restaurant in Center Township

I went to this restaurant last Saturday. I eat out all the time and breakfast is my favorite meal. I was so disappointed with my breakfast. I had a Denver omelette and it was thoroughly overcooked, burnt and dry. My pancakes were thick and bready, but the potatoes were good. I mentioned to my waitress about the omelette and she just said that’s how they always cook them there. And I should have told them how I wanted it. Maybe she should have ask me. The waitress knew that omelette was terrible. Unbelievable. As I was leaving I saw several well cooked omelette on other’s plates. I been to every breakfast restaurant in Lake County Indiana and never had an omelette that overcooked. She definitely should have offered to redo it, after I expressed how disappointed I was. Or at the very least take it off my bill. After all customer satisfaction should stand for something.Pride in their food should have prevented them from plating that awful omelette. If you make a mistake, correct it. So I paid for a meal that I only tasted a small portion. I will not be back nor recommend this place to anyone...

I had the Julienne salad. The menu said it was served with fresh greens, ham, turkey, swiss, american, cucumber, tomato and a hard boiled egg. I was served fresh greens and the cheese was ok. The ham that was served was thick cut and had a delicious smokey flavor while the turkey I assume came from a cheap package of buddings sandwich meat. The turkey was slightly discolored and paper thin with no real flavor. Salad was served with no hard boiled egg. What really caught my eye was the quality of the ham versus the turkey. My only suggestion is to use better quality ingredients across the entire menu, not just parts of it.

The ham was beyond delicious and the service was good. Ill be back soon and I'll update my review...

I had a very good breakfast.

House: The eating area was filled with smoke. Not sure if there was a kitchen mishap before I came in or if the kitchen is just poorly ventilate but the air quality was noticeable. Also kinda feels like you're eating in a basement because of the lack of natural light.

Service: very hassel free service and the staff was polite and attentive.

Food: I had a meat lovers skillet and it was great. I also got sausage gravy to top the dish and it was really flavorful. I will order B&G on a future visit.

Price: higher end of mid-range pricing. Over $20 after tip for a...
