If I could give this place negative stars I definitely would!! 9/26/20 was my first time eating at Compadres in Butler Pa....and it will most certainly be my last. Since this restaurant opened at the clearview mall I’ve heard some good things about their food from numerous people. Saturday I decided to appease my curiosity. It was around 12:30 when we arrived, they open at 12:00 on Saturday’s. The place was empty,I assumed it was because they had only been open for around 30 minutes. Complimentary salsa and chips were not horrible. We ordered and I’m not exaggerating when I say that our server was back at our table with our meals in what seemed like 2-3 minutes. Now,keep in mind we both ordered the same thing which consisted of 2 Burritos, rice, beans and lettuce and tomato. One Beef and one Shredded Chicken. So that’s 4 Burritos in less than 4 minutes. Needless to say, both of our plates were about 1000 degrees and our burritos, rice and what was supposed to be beans, which were identical to bean paste, were barely warm. I’m 100% certain those plates were "Nuked" in a microwave, which tells me they had them already made and waiting for someone to order them. How horrible is that?? Out of curiosity we opened the burritos, also so they could not serve them to anyone else because we sure as hell weren’t going to eat them! The beef was so greasy my cholesterol rose by 100 just looking at it. And the shredded chicken was crammed in so thick we could barely cut it with a knife, and the inside was so PINK I swear it clucked at me! When I finally found our server to let him know how very unhappy we were,he pretended to be unable to speak or understand English, although he understood and spoke alright when he seated us and took our order. Not only did he not care at all,the other person that came to the table could care less as well. I asked if our food was microwaved and showed him the pink chicken and pile of brown muck that was supposed to be beans and it was like I was talking to a deaf-blind man! If anyone has made it this far in this review please do not waste your time and money on this place! Bottom line is,EVERYTHING about this location is absolutely terrible!! If you experience anything like this refuse to pay and let others know...
Read moreFirst time coming to this location (have been to the Compadres in Meadville), and it was very good. They have an outside entrance and a mall entrance. Very nice ambience and decor inside. Our server was very polite. I always forget to take a picture to post on here before I start eating. Anyway, I ordered the molcajete fajitas, which consisted of steak, chicken, chorizo, tomatoes, onions and peppers, cooked in pineapple juice and topped with two grilled pineapple rings, a skewer of shrimp and cheese sauce. It was delicious. It comes with three tortillas and rice, beans, lettuce, pico, and sour cream on the side. I also asked for mushrooms which were $.99 extra and some broccoli. They forgot to put those two ingredients in with the others, but when I asked for it they brought out a small plate filled with it. My aunt got the mixed fajitas with steak, chicken and shrimp and she said hers were also very good. We had the chimi rolls to start and I got a Chile relleno (just because I always get one when I go to a Mexican restaurant, certainly not because I needed it, because there was plenty of food without it), but my aunt wanted to try some anyway, and both were very good. They have nice sized portions, I ate my three fajitas and still had a lot of the filling to take home. I wanted to try their fried ice cream but was too full. They also bring out chips and salsa before you order, much like any other Mexican restaurant. Definitely would recommend and can't wait to go back!
Edit: I'm editing my review based on the fact that the chimi rolls that were described in the menu were not what we received. I knew this and should have said something, but I thought maybe I was mistaken when I read the description. Don't get me wrong, what we got was good, but the description is what persuaded me to order them in the first place, and when we got them there were no beans, corn or tomatoes, just basically chicken, peppers and onions. Just make sure you're getting...
Read morePretty bad... Walked in on a Saturday and it was dead .. not a good sign but figured it might have been a slow night so give it a try. Sat down at the bar and the bartender was making drinks in directly front of us. Never said hi or acknowledged us the whole time and we were the only ones at the bar. Then when she finally asked us for our drinks she forgot to put tequila in my wife's margaretta and literally stopped making our drinks half way because someone in the back wanted to talk to her. We then asked for the check and she said ok and walked away. We had to ask the hostess to get her to come back as she just left the bar. The atmosphere and hostess were nice but bartender couldn't care less if we were there and make us feel very unwelcome. We didn't even finish our drinks before we left. Management needs to seriously evaluate their employees and their view of customer service. Hopefully for them this was a one off but I highly doubt we'll...
