Generally I do not like to complain but after going to Texas Roadhouse in Butler, PA for years we had the worst experience anywhere we have eaten to date. Some context into what happened... We were seated within 2 minutes of arriving which was faster than our waiting list app originally said. Then from there everything went down hill. My friend ordered a sangria which when it came to our table looked very murky like some type of white fluid was added to it. Upon tasting it, it was very bitter. We weren't going to complain as its not generally in our nature but then my friends salad came out... brown. Not just one or 2 pieces but 95% of the salad was bad along with brown mushy pieces included.. Ok that was the tipping point and we brought it to our waitresses attention. Seriously, why was food served like that. Our waitress was very nice and had the salad replaced and took the sangria off our bill. Then comes the replacement salad... better but still had about 40% that was un-edible. And this salad included pieces of onion skins... We decided not to continue to complain as it was just getting annoying to this point. THEN our steaks came out. My friend said something that made me look up. She cut her strip steak into 3 big pieces. The steak was PURPLE inside and still cold! I then cut into my Dallas Filet. It was rare inside and slightly warmer than cold!! COME ON NOW. Not only one issue but FIVE! Then, the manager came over and asked if the steaks were prepared good. We said no they are supposed to be medium and they are raw. She said she would corrected after asking what kind of steaks they were. So we waited a good 20 minutes for them to bring out THE SAME STEAKS that were finally cooked and we told the manager they were better when we cut into them. Then we went to eat them... and dry dry dry. At this point we were so fed up with the whole situation we just wanted our check to leave. It didn't dawn on us to take pictures until towards the end so we did get pictures of the dried steak and parts of the second salad, but I'm unable to find a way to post these pictures on this review. When the waitress came back to take the payment I mentioned again how horrible everything was and not having just one issue but multiple. She said she would speak with her manager. Upon coming back AFTER she ran my c.c. she told us that the manager said, "since we ate some of the steak the 2nd time around everything should of been ok and nothing was being done to our bill." At this point we are 100% furious. We were not looking for a free meal. We go out almost weekly to different restaurants. But what we do expect is $61 worth of EDIBLE food. To add context to the "steak we were supposedly eating" we took most of it home for our DOGS! How many things have to go wrong in a visit before common curiosity is done. How a business can run like this I don't know. But I will have a very hard time explaining to my children why we will NOT be going on their birthdays like we do every year. This was beyond a frustrating event for us and we are sorely disappointed in the management at this restaurant...
Read moreMy brother and I dined in on the afternoon of 7/31/2024. When we first arrived at the Clearview Mall Texas Roadhouse, my brother immediately commented on the sidewalk directly in front of the restaurant entrance doors. The cement sidewalk was exceptionally gross and covered in grime. It looked as though it had not seen a pressure washer in years! As we entered the vestibule area, we noticed the floors were also incredibly dirty and nothing had been cleaned or vacuumed. The windows were cruddy with multiple fingerprints all over the glass, as well as the push plates on the doors that led into the interior of the restaurant. We were hesitant at this point to dine here due to the filthiness of the exterior, but we had a later appointment and decided it was too late to try another restaurant. We bravely gave it a try, hoping we would not regret it later. The interior of the restaurant was also not clean and the carpets looked dirty, but we were welcomed by friendly staff and seated within 10 minutes. Our waitress, Faith, was quite friendly and helpful. We did not order appetizers. We ordered one rib eye and BBQ rib dinner and one beef tips with onion and mushrooms which were only average for this type of restaurant. The dinner rolls were a hit and the dressings for the salads were delicious. Again, the waitress was accommodating and friendly with drink refills. After dinner we had an engagement, so I walked to the back of the restaurant to the women’s restroom where again I was quite disappointed in the uncleanliness. The doors were dull and dirty, paper towels were spilling onto the floor from the waste basket and water was all over the sinks. Toilet paper littered the inside of the stall and the floors were dirty. Not surprisingly, the toilet seat sheets were empty. It does not appear that anyone at this restaurant was cleaning anything or making sure things were tidy anywhere, as well as in the restroom. It seemed like the restaurant was fully staffed with staff milling around waiting for customers. A grimy entryway and vestibule and filthy bathroom makes me wonder if the, Unseen, kitchen is as dirty as well? Due to the filthiness of this Texas Roadhouse, we doubt we will return. I know this restaurant has been a Butler County local favorite, but it seems like this place has taken a steep dive into the...
Read moreI called in at 3:30 & asked for assistance with placing a pick up order because I'm visually impaired & don't see apps, websites, etc. well. The hostess simply said, "I'll transfer you to "To Go." I asked her what that meant, " she was short in her response & transferred me (apparently). The phone rang for 10 minutes!!! Noone answered. We were driving (we're not local), then hung up, pulled over, & I got help with the link from my sig other (who had been driving). After the order was placed, the confirmation said 45 mins, which would be 4:30. We arrived at 4:08, sent the "Here" text requested by the confirmation, & received a response stating that our order wasn't ready yet, that they'd notify us when it was. We waited a half an hour (til 4:38), & then I walked in. 3 employees stood at the hostess station talking socially as if there was noone else around & paid no attention to me, despite the fact that I was standing right there. I said, "Excuse me, but could someone please tell me where your to go/pickup area is?" One young man pointed & said, "It's the next counter over." There was another young guy packing a bag & a girl on the terminal. I asked, "Could you please tell me what's going on with my order?" He smugly & irritated said, "What's your name?" I responded with it. He checked the bag that he was prepping & walked to a table where there were a half a dozen orders waiting. At that time, he grabbed a bag, handed it to me, said nothing, & resumed his place behind the counter doing what he had been. I said, "WTH?!?" He responded shortly, "We text you." I literally received the text while standing there. I can only assume that the girl at the terminal heard me/him & did it. I walked out. Nothing else was said.
We travel an hour once a month to TXRH for their filet & ribs. There's none in our area. However, the Butler store has lost us (& everyone we tell) as patrons. The hostess station is your Frontline. If it's not welcoming, & your pick up employees aren't pleasant, nothing else matters. They're the cancer that can...
