My husband and I might be old but we aren’t actually invisible! We sat at the counter and not one of the three people behind the counter made eye contact, said hello (or “I’ll be with you in a moment” or “Please order at the cash register” … which was literally beside our seats), or acted as if we were in the building! Finally, we got up and left. It seems as if the staff only wants college students instead of people like us who are moving to Central in the coming months and thought the place would be a wonderful local place for regular dining and afternoon beer. (Edited after reading the owner's response with the sentences below.) So ... you are of the opinion that sitting for three minutes within three feet of three staff members without being acknowledged with an "I'll be with you" or "Hi" or even a smile and nod is acceptable service. My years as a waitress sort of tell me a different story ... but ... like I said, I'm old and might be out of touch with the ways that youth and management view service protocol. Last night (here in Columbia) we went to dinner at a place generally serving and staffed by USC students. We went with a friend and told her our experience. She pulled out her phone and looked for our review. She looked on Trip Advisor. Obviously, it wasn't there, but she thought we wrote this one: "I have no idea what their coffee is like, but we went there just to have a sandwich. No reason to expand on the sandwiches, they only make 3 different kinds, except they were awful. Thin, and mine had a hair in it. If you want to come here and suck up free wi-fi or do your homework, then this is the place. Maybe the coffee is drinkable. Oh, and the top age of the clientele seems to be 25 - so you'll really be out of your element if you're over 30." We roared with laughter. Apparently, this sort of service is exactly what "old people" can expect if venturing into Jitters Brewing. We then asked the young waitress (who had immediately greeted us despite being very busy with nearly the entire floor as her section) how long her boss would think acceptable for her to ignore a table. She looked totally confused and didn't know how to answer. I rephrased and asked how many times her boss would think it acceptable to walk by newly seated clients without acknowledging them. Quickly, she said, "Not once". Finally, my husband Steve and I are moving to Central. Perhaps we will meet in the future. It probably won't be at Jitters even though I wrote a private message to you (on the Jitters website) expressing our willingness to try the place again. Sticking up for your staff is an uncomfortable position in which I've twice found myself during my 35+ years running the staff at my custom picture framing shop, but when this has happened, I knew the client would never be coming back. Please review your video again. We walked when one of your employees took the order from a girl who just walked up to the counter, someone standing literally beside my husband. If this is the service for which you commended your staff, it seems obvious that you need them (probably not to quit during finals week) more than any "old people" who are not coming to soak up the free WiFi. So be it ... and yet my private message did offer free church pews. That offer...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Jitters is such a hidden gem in Central, SC! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff is incredibly friendly and kind. It’s the perfect spot to relax, catch up with friends, or grab a treat with the kids.
I had the iced brown sugar latte and it was absolutely delicious—smooth, perfectly sweetened, and so refreshing. My husband tried the Float Down pecan cold brew with cream and loved it! We were both so impressed by the drink options.
As someone who eats gluten free, I really appreciated that they had several gluten free choices—not just for me but for my kids too. The gluten free peanut butter cream cookie is a must-try… soft, flavorful, and honestly one of the best treats I’ve had in a while!
Jitters has great drinks, sweet people, and thoughtful menu options. We’ll definitely be back!
They also have items to buy!

Read morePoor pour. Average coffee. Decent atmosphere. In response to the owner's request: I ordered a latte. The steamed milk was overdone and more liquid than foam. The barista couldn't make a leaf if she tried due to the poor consistency. The taste and look were reminiscent of a watered down Starbucks drink made by their most under trained people. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great. In the last month I've had espresso drinks in Chicago, Charleston, Greenville, Annapolis, and Boardman, OH. In a comparison, yours is dead last... and overpriced. To an under traveled collegian this may be good, but it's not to someone who was had espresso on 3 continents and dozens of cities, towns, and countries. Maybe espresso isn't your thing? If it wasn't for the price I'd give it another try or buy a bag of beans but I'm sorry to say it's not...
