I ordered online. I was parked right outside and I did tell someone that. By the time I saw the notification, the food was lukewarm. It smelled good. The gravy was white not brown as I ordered. The onion rings would have been overly browned and too crunchy if they had been hot. The country fried steak smelled good but was too thin to have been cooked so long and was also crunchy and dry. The veggies are canned and mushy and very little of those. I did return the food immediately and received a refund. I did give the waitress a $1 tip for her time helping me. However, I went hungry until much later in the day as I had a driving schedule to keep. The previous restaurant at this location was great. They must have retired. They staff was covering too many tables as well. They need a bell over the door so that someone knows that a hungry client has entered. Perhaps I should have ordered breakfast instead of lunch fare. Breakfasts looked good on folks' tables. If I'd dined in instead of ordering takeout, maybe the food would have been more appetizing and hotter??? And the service better??? It's popular among the residents of Centralia as it's the only game in that part of town. They're also older clientele and used to eating for years at the former establishment. Some were complaining outside where I waited with my service dog in my car by the front door. I'm just NOT the kind of person to eat whatever I am served and not either compliment the cook or return unsatisfactory food. How will they get better and have more happy word of mouth IF people never say anything. They'll eventually have fewer and fewer diners and wonder why their giving their hard earned money to another establishment? Their IS a highly recommended place some leaving customers mentioned switching to next time not very far from there. Called Pancake House/Palace?..I checked their larger menu out online recently. I'll try eating there next time I'm passing through on my way to KY and TN and Metropolis..Yes, Superman IS VERY BIG in this small town. We frequently stop there as well. Fun place to visit! Breakfast one day was horrible, hash browns were sour as heck, potatos were bad. BLT meal was another bad experience, probably the worst BLT I've ever had. How do you mess up a BLT? Ask them, it was avery measly two slices of bread, 2 slices of dried up bacon, poor tomato and a slice of lettuce. 10 bucks for this lousy BLT .. Salad with one of our meals one day had hair in it, no one wears gloves or hair nets, salad area behind counter where they make salad is exposed to the environment.with everything out in the open. Fish here was a terrible experience, it smelled bad, usually it's a sign of old fish. There are more bad experiences than good, it's expensive and usually cost between 30 to 35 bucks for wife and i and the cost doesn't justify going there. Let's not forget the coffee alone is $5.00 for two people. Anyone who thinks that this is acceptable needs to get out more ... Read morePlaced order in building to-go, they served it up for dine-in, then they set there until the they figured it out, then scraped it in to-go containers, then they set open for another few minutes until someone closed it, then opened it again to see what it was to write on it before it was bagged.
I noticed that hashbrown was not well-done, like the order was placed, so I then mentioned it. The lady opened it and closed it and said, "yes, they are." (Which they were NOT they were completely white)
Obviously, it was cold after driving 3 min away with 4 orders. Not to mention that there was no syrup placed for the pancakes. So half the food was thrown away, being in a place of business and not having options to fix it.
Then, they charged me TWICE. When I called to let them know, they said, "they know it (should) drop off in a couple days it does that because of the (Tip) and it happens all the time due to their computer system." I left CASH for the tip.
She stated' "that she didnt know then and (it should) be put back on in a couple of days, if not to call back." Very unprofessional, very RUDE throughout the conversation, and NEVER...
