Gong Cha — Restaurant in Cerritos

Gong Cha is a great little place for filling your boba cravings. Their tea selection is solid, they have a lot of variety that isn't found in other bubble tea shops, and they have hot food appetizers.

The service is smiley and friendly, always willing to help a newbie out, and they make great recommendations.

I can personally recommend the Milk Tea with 3J, strawberry milk foam with green tea, lemon juice with ai-yu and white pearl (insanely refreshing!), mango smoothie, and taro smoothie.

Their add-in game is probably the best in the Cerritos/Artesia area, honestly. They're generous with their helpings of fresh boba, refreshing herbal jelly, and delicious pudding. (Bonus points: the pudding is soft and very easy to slurp up with a straw, unlike some places, which use firm pudding blocks that free-float in their drinks.)

In fact, if Gong Cha has a weakness, it's that. They have such good add-ins that you need more drink in order to get them. So do yourself a favor... Just order a large.

Bottom line? You can't go wrong coming here, but you'll definitely miss out...

First I was a little disappointed you cannot order inside the store, it would've been helpful & appreciated to be advised over the phone earlier when I called to ask at what time they were closing. As soon as you walk up to the door, there is a board instructing how to order and it makes it seem the only way is to do it through Yelp, which was very frustrating, took me about 20 minutes to place my order even when I am tech savvy, the worst part was it said my order will be ready in 25 minutes, even though I choose to have my order ready ASAP, since I had been there for over 30 minutes already. HOWEVER, when I called back the store to share my frustration: I never expected to waste 1 whole hour to get my teas, the guy who answered was so patience, understanding and PROACTIVE, my drinks where done within 5 minutes. His professionalism and the drinks quality completely switch the frustration feeling to a delightful one. I wish I would've asked the guy's name to give him and his staff a shout out fur such great...

I ordered the Marble Mango (Large, 50% sweet, no ice, coconut jelly) — the same drink I’ve had multiple times before — but what I received was completely different from what’s shown on the menu or what I’ve gotten in the past. It didn’t have the usual layers or flavor balance that the Marble Mango normally has.

If the store was out of ingredients, I wish they had just let me know instead of giving a totally different drink. I wouldn’t have minded switching to something else, but it’s frustrating to pay full price and get something that doesn’t match what I ordered.

I really like Gong Cha and usually have a good experience, so I hope this was just a one-time mistake — but better communication with customers would...
