We went here for New Years/New Years Eve 2018 which was their Grand Opening. When we arrived, there was a long long outside... mind you it was FREEZING COLD! We didn’t think the wait would be long so we decided to stay.

As we waited the line was not moving at all! The two owners (2 guys in their 20s) were coming outside and only letting their friends/people they knew in and completely ignoring everyone else in line. No one would update the rest of us on what was going on... The owners just kept popping in and out every 5 minutes!

We waited out in the cold for about 1 hour when they finally let the rest of us in. Once we got inside, it was a complete disappointment! The place was packed, but NOT in a good way. It was packed like sardines. There was NO standing room, let alone dancing room. The place was not big at all. It has 2 VIP stages, 1 VIP lounge and a huge bar taking up all the room; therefore, everyone was either standing or sitting around looking at each other. No one was dancing or having fun.

Another reason why might be because on EventBrite they advertised the music as AfroBeats, Hip Hop, Dancehall, Reggae and Top 40. The entire time we were outside and inside, the only music they played was hip hop. Mind you, while we were standing outside the majority of the people were African! The only reason we went to this ‘club’ was because we wanted to hear a MIX OF MUSIC. 🙄🙄

Needless to say, we stayed for a few minutes and walked right out!! I will NOT be returning....

My friends and I recently visited this lounge, there were a few issues that affected our experience. Firstly, the waitstaff did not inform us about the requirement to purchase tables before being seated. This lack of communication was disappointing as follows

We purchased food drinks and hookah. Again still no communication on us needing to pay for the table even once everything came out.

20 mins after receiving our food. We were unexpectedly asked to move by our waitress because someone came in and had purchased the table we were sitting at. This information was not communicated to us beforehand, and we would have to pick everything we purchased up and move. Despite there being THE EXACT SAME empty table next to us that the waitress let us know was not purchased. We asked if she could just sit the party next to us being the lack of communication and inconvenience to us even after purchasing food drinks hookah. We even offered to pay more for the section that we were sitting in. She insisted that we move instead of accommodating us. We did not want to support any further and decided to leave.

While the food was great and the line was manageable, the lack of communication, preferential treatment, and inconvenience of our experience. I hope the management takes these concerns into consideration to improve their service and communication...

This is my FIRST bad review out of all of my Google reviews. First they were out of everything. No IPA beers, no limes for a basic corona. When it was time to order food, no roast beef, no fettuccine noodles for pasta. I ended up ordering the Efo and the waitress did not know what food come in the dish. My sister ordered the tacos and they were EXTREMELY DRY! We arrived at 10pm and sat at the bar and ordered two hookahs. At 1125 we were told by security that we had 5 mins before they had to take out chairs. At this point we haven’t paid yet. We tried to wait for the bartender to come to us to get our check within those 5 mins but she was helping other people. By the time she cashed us out our$250 tab (well 290 including included gratuity) the time was 1135. The security came back and snatched the chair from under us. It was extremely tasteless and disrespectful. I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE !! We could have at least been told that we only had 1 hour and a half to sit before our seats will be taken so we could or we accordingly. THE PLACE IS JUST TASTELESS IN ALL WAYS The only thing that was...

We found a real hidden gem in ATL, @theaceatlanta is a restaurant and lounge serving the cutest drinks & tastiest food. They even have African cuisine on their menu! My absolute favorite dish were the lamb fries, if you are a lamb chop girl like me you HAVE to give these a try. They of course serve hookah, & once it gets a little later the party vibes really start. Make sure you check them out and let them know LinksInTheCity sent you.

My girls and I ended up here to grab a bite of food. We ended up spending the night here. The vibes were nice, and the dj was playing some good tunes. I'm assuming the night we went wasn't African night because we left without hearing 1 African song. Nonetheless, it was a good crowd, and people were actually friendly, which is rare in these types of settings. The food took over 45 minutes to come once the crowd grew; it became harder to locate our server. It seemed like they were understaffed last night. We ordered the lamb fries, which were bomb. Full of flavor and the portion were good. I would definitely recommend it. My friend got the salmon burger, and her review was "it's ok, I've had better" 😆. I ordered the lamb and mashpotatoes, and It was delicious. Chef kiss. Lamb was cooked to perfection, and the potatoes were creamy. I would give this establishment another shot. I would visit on African night so I can really get the full experience of Ace. It's worth a try, in my opinion.

I was honestly going to rate them a 4 based off of the vibes of the restaurant, when I received my to go order that brought me back to reality. See it for yourself. The jollof rice has a burnt smell and taste ,the egusi soup portion is very small for 15.00 the beef suya is over cooked, with burnt corners or fully throughout , the spice seasoning is mixed in ,that should be on the side,I will stick with Ike’s cafe and grill where i worked before. Fyi if you don’t have enough money to break $100 for a order thats $56 why not state that over the phone, I don’t care who gave you a bill, can you break my money down without going elsewhere. NO, let your customers know ahead of time. The waitresses only bend over backwards for certain people based on the money they receive. Services should be equal female or male.
