Pros: atmosphere is western style. Plenty of TVs. Friendly staff but not overly attentive. Been here 20-30 times in 4 years as a neighbor. The menu is quite large something for everyone but I usually go with a spicy burger or chicken sandwhich or flat bread. ALWAYS upgrading my side to their delicious and generously portioned waffle fries (1 side is enough for 2 people to share imo, so get a fruit or a green as the other side and split them #healthyliving Live music some nights. There is pull tabs if you’re into that. 2 for 1 beers all day every day if you’re into that too! There is also a large (maybe 1000sqft) party space available for rent too with high top tables and all.
Cons: The biggest gripe I have is that it’s layout is very poorly designed which makes it hard for me to want to bring my family there with two young children, which is fine. Unless you’re there for kids eat free day that is. Just a warning to parents that it’s maybe mot the best place for young ones. But even when it’s just the wife and I wanting to grab a quick bite when Grammy has the boys, it is typically so crowded and loud it’s uncomfortable. Especially the area where the kitchen, bar and pull tabs meet. It gets extremely loud, on top of the movement of people and food in and out of the kitchen, there’s usually a handful of people ranging from managers, wait staff waiting for beers, bar tenders / backs, drunk old guys waiting in line to throw their money at some tabs and beers… it’s a lot to take in, especially when you have to piss two beers out and looking for the bathroom in the back corner through all of this. And then you decide if you want to take route A to shove through and take the direct path and maybe get run over by a plate of beers, nah… what else we got (oh man I have to pee…) I look around and see a small gap to slide through between the bar and low tops. Let’s go! Swiftly shuffling and sliding through the first couple tables and I come upon the giant back of an oversized American male completely blocking the way there. The tables on my left are too crowded to fit. I have to go back. Now here I am, I feel the pressure on my bladder growing. I can feel the buzzing of the neon sign on the back of my neck as I turn back. I find myself jogging around the low tops between the booths, jumping past 1 waitress. Then another. Then a third. Almost there. All that’s left are 3 more low tops, some teenagers messing with pay per play music box and 4 kids playing at the claw machines running down the narrow hallways to the porcelain friend I’ve longed for for what felt like an eternity. 13 minutes later, I emerged from the loo bumping elbows with a few people as I returned to pay my mid-price tab. All in all, not a bad spot. Just plan to add some extra time for logistics if you need to use the van on a busy...
Read moreI am appalled with this Willy’s location… mainly the current manager. Worst customer service i have ever experienced. We have been coming to this location faithfully (2-3 times per week!!) for years! Normally things are pretty great. We love the staff and they know my husband’s order by heart bc he always orders the same thing. Today we went for lunch and the Vikings game was on. It was loud at first but rather bearable. Even so, I put my Loop earplugs in to dampen the sound because it sets off my anxiety. We ordered and a few minutes later, the volume was turned very loud. It was loud for me even with Loops in my ears! I totally understand the reason Willys wants the game on and it warrants the normal sound level to be louder, but that was ridiculous! Also, if Willys wants to be purely a game bar, they need to tell customers that. I would then choose to eat somewhere else. We asked our sweet waitress if she could request the volume turned down. I didn’t ask for it to be turned way down… just down a little. When she came back, we were told that the volume could not be turned down. Not the waitresses fault, obviously, so I asked to speak to the manager. We waited probably 15 minutes for the manager to come over. Our waitress even stopped by to check-in and say the manager was busy writing names on the board for the game and would be by when she was done. Wow! That manager sure takes her real job seriously!Anyways, manager finally came over and said they would not turn the volume down at all. Huh? She was so unaccommodating and fake about any concern for long-time customers. Work with your customers Willys… there could have been some sort of compromise. Everyone would have still been able to hear the game even if you turned it down a bit. The app on my husband’s phone said it was 85 decibels. Also, not everyone comes to your restaurant to watch the game. The people seated behind us also left because it was too loud. People were trying to have conversation and eat a meal. I certainly didn’t come to be a customer at your restaurant to get treated like that! We will never be back until that manager no longer works there. I am so...
Read moreWent tonight with my wife and chose to eat at the bar. I ordered extra crispy wings as I noticed from another customer they were big and I can't stand when they are not fully done. A runner brought our food and my wings were a split between two different flavors and not crispy. Runner told me, just keep them and I'll get the other half right. The female bartender came as I was pushing them away and said, you have the wrong ones. She took them. She came back with my wings and dropped them yet they were in no way extra crispy and did not have the extra ranch I ordered. I tried the wings anyway but after the third one was still simi raw and chewy near the bone I just couldn't eat them. I pushed them away. After awhile the bartender came and asked what was wrong and I showed her the chewy pink meat. Granted the wings were very big, but that's why I asked for extra crispy. She took them and asked what else she could get me. At this point I was totally turned off and didn't want anything else. I orderd another round of drinks and as we were finishing those we noticed the female bartenddr "refixing" her hair to the point she took her hair band from her "bun" ran her fingers threw her hair right at the bar several times to fluff it all up and then pulled it back and spun it around to put the band back in. She finished putting her hair back in view of the whole bar talking to other customers the whole time and then went right back to the kitchen and grabbed food and dtopped off. I watched the whole time and she never washed her hands and then started making drinks again. We waited forever for her to give us our ticket so my wife went and asked for it when she finished fixing her hair. We then waited another long time to pay so we asked the male bartender who is always there "great guy" if he could cash us out. He took care of us so we paid and left. This was not an issue of being short staffed and the wings are on the cooks not her. This just sloppy service and...
