I'm from Pennsylvania so when people talk about Philly steak and cheese sandwiches, you're really talking about a whole family tree of different sandwiches. They can be made with cheese whiz, they can be made with provolone, mozzarella, lots of onions, no onions, green peppers, no green peppers, sweet peppers, you name it - if it's on the menu, they're going to throw it in there. I got the regular Philly steak and cheese with provolone and sweet peppers. Although there were a few green peppers in there, they didn't charge me for them and I don't mind. I also got the sweet potato french fries with a little bit of sea salt on them and you get a free drink. I paid $20 for the whole meal. Do I feel like I got $20 worth, I do. I feel that that was an fair price for the meal that I purchased.
When I walked in I found a place to be moderately busy. The staff was clean, polite and busy. There was no music playing overhead which I find kind of nice. Too much loud music ruins the atmosphere. For the fountain drinks they had Coca-Cola products. I got Bart's root beer. The sandwich named the regular as they called. It is just the right amount for lunch not too light that you're really hungry and not too heavy where you're about to fall into a food coma.
The question is would I come back? The answer is yes. I will come back and visit this place again. It was a quick sandwich. It was made in probably just under 7 minutes which I'm impressed because the guy was fast on the grill. It was hot and he knew what he was doing.
Good luck out...
Read moreJust picked up our first, and what will be our LAST, order from Forefathers! Ordered the grilled chicken bowl with mushrooms, onions, peppers and jalapenos with the kale slaw for $12! There were literally 11 small chunks of chicken, less than a handful of kale leafs; no "slaw", about 5 life's of jalapeno, couldn't see the onions or green peppers. That's what I got for $12. Oh, and the sweet potato fries portion was about the same size of a small fries at McDonalds, except Forefathers charged $4.50. Shame on you Forefathers! This place is WAY over priced, but you be the judge. Just be prepared to be disappointed. Tried to upload photos...
Read moreI always try to support locally owned businesses, even when I’m traveling. While in Chandler, AZ, I ate at Forefathers Cheesesteak a couple of times. Great food, friendly service, and exceptionally clean restaurant. Since face masks are not required in this state, it didn’t bother me that employees were not wearing one. Cheesesteak is a must, and don’t forget the sweet potato fries (and sauces). Their salads are pretty special too. Paying a tiny bit more for fresh, high quality food that is cooked right in front of you is an added bonus. I will be visiting family there again and Forefathers will be on my list of...
