This restaurant was phenomenal. The pasta had a delicious flavor to it that felt balanced and light on your stomach. Paired with the chicken that retained a magnificent amount of moisture, the pasta shined. Raising the chicken's flavor as a result. The chicken had light seasoning on it as well, allowing the pasta to carry the flavor to where it needed to be.
The servers were great from the start. Initially they introduced themselves and proceeded to give us a list of meals that we might like. While also giving us options to select from. We didn't have any wine, this time. But when some of my family members asked for lemonade, he made them quickly for us even though it seemed like it wasn't on the menu. So, rather than saying no they don't make that, he managed to provide us with what we needed. A wonderful experience.
Both servers, Dane and Luke, were very kind, helpful, and present. Dane talked with us occasionally throughout our meal in a pleasant and unobtrusive way. He was funny about the way he'd reply and, when we were all done with our meal, held a nice conversation with us. He was even nice enough to take a picture for us. My entire family had nothing but good things to say about the server and the chef.
The atmosphere was also very elegant. There is a glass door that allows air inside while also still having the AC running indoors to keep a nice balance of cool air and an open feeling. It would have been a great view for a sunset gathering. The decor was also great. I'd definitely recommend this...
Read moreI was looking for a restaurant that was rated highly for having a quiet atmosphere and offering a good selection of gluten-free menu items. Tarantini was one of the restaurants that received high marks in these categories, along with great food at reasonable prices. Our group of 6 decided to give it a shot, traveling from different parts of the state to visit for our annual get together. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the staff was very attentive! However, we had to ask twice for them to turn down the jazz music which made it difficult to hear each other as well as our waitress, and were told they would ask the owner each time. It wasn't just our table either. If you watched other people's body language as they tried to hear their waiter/waitress/other guests, it was clear that the music was too loud for that room. Additionally, at around 8:00 they started cranking up the heat so high that we were literally sweating and decided to pass on dessert and leave. Other tables in our area were leaving as well -- maybe their way of turning over the tables a little...
Read moreOnly had the Margherita pizza and a salad. I'll start with; I love Pepper's Pizza, Lilly's Pizza, Sal's, Alfredo's, Amante, Pulcinella's, Bocci, 411 West, even chain pizza like Ledo's and Papa John's I love. Suffice to say I've had pizza from just about everywhere around here and further north in the DC/ Baltimore area, and a few places in Manhattan. I don't say what I'm about to say lightly. In fact I say it quite surprisingly (mainly due to the random, out of the way for most of us, governor's club location.) The pizza I had from the lovely little Tarantini's is the singular best sauce, best crust, best ingredients, just best Pizza period, I've ever had!!! I'm going to have to try everything else now! Which brings to me to what I worry about this great place, the out of the way location. I'm willing to drive from RTP to get to it. And I really hope I'm wrong, but I don't think the Governor's Club (the gated and very few surrounding condo communities) and one random triangle foodie, alone, are enough to keep it afloat. Here's to hoping it lasts and that more locals find and...
