first time here, what youāve heard in reviews about parking is correct, it is a little tricky but I think I got lucky and found a spot as soon as I pulled in. Coming into the restaurant was a little confusing, thereās a stairwell in the doorway that I walked into and I didnāt know whether to go up or down. Luck of the draw I went up and then I didnāt know whether I sat myself or not, no defined host station that I saw. They did ask me if I wanted to sit at a table, but I chose to sit at the bar. After sitting down, the bartender/server (Maddie) immediately attended to me. Struggled to decide on an appetizer, it all looked good so I let her pick for me. She gave me the Elote Dip, telling me it was her favorite. Iām glad I let her choose that was delicious. Then I got the Fernburger, which is pictured. Me being picky about my burgers, loved it, and enjoyed every bite. ended my eating with an Oreo cheesecake. Iāll tell you what, I was a little nervous about the place after my initial entrance, but Maddie hit a home run and turned it into a grand slam experience. I hope they reward her well. The atmosphere is definitely lively and it can get a little noisy, but it is manageable. if you are a people person, this is definitely a place to go. I definitely plan on coming back again and hopefully socialize a little more with the help (maybe even Maddie) or other patrons. I highly recommend this place. I donāt know how I had never heard of this place until recently like the other South Hills...

This was noteworthy - Somehow they lost our order, but after realizing it, literally 3 people apologized for it: our waitress, the guy who delivered our food to our table, and then one of the owners. We honestly didnāt even mind because we were taking our time with some drinks, but this was great to see them taking responsibility together as a team, no excuses and no blame game.
Our waiters have always been good, and Iāve noticed weāve seen most of the same waiters since they opened, which is a good sign and makes the place seen more like a reliable and comfortable local spot.
Three things Iād really like to see: #1 a beer list with details so I donāt have to look them up on my phone #2 social media posts promoting food and drinks and new items or specials, and #3 a more prominent sign because I think some non locals might not even be sure theyāve found the restaurant when...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I recently spent a weekend in Charleston, and went to Fernbank our first night in town. It's is not a big restaurant, so be prepared for a slight wait if you go at peak times. However, even with a little bit of a wait we were very happy with everything. Our waiter was awesome; very friendly, offered tips on additions to our meals, and extremely attentive to our needs despite every table being full. The food was outstanding... really really good. We ordered cocktails from the bar to start with an order of poutine to split as an appetizer. The bartender knows exactly what she is doing and the poutine was fantastic. Honestly, probably too good, cause I ate far too much of it and had to take half of my dinner back to the hotel with me. For our dinner I ordered the chicken club and my husband ordered the braised beef sandwich. Amazing. In fact, both meals were so good we went back the following night for dinner again. The ambiance, service, and food at Fernbank...
