Sunrise Carriage Trail — Attraction in Charleston

This was a beautiful easy walk on a wide path. It was uphill ans switchback but not too hard. The flowers were blooming the foliage was bright it was a perfect stroll with the family even my toddler was happy. There were benches for resting if needed but we didnt even with a toddler and my mom who is over 70. This place has a touch of really unique history, photo opps, a waterfall, skyline view, and a alot of peacefullness. We enjoyed this very much. Will recommend...

Found this short (.75mi .) Hiking trail while passing through Charleston. Kind of hidden and out of the way trailhead! The path starting point was under construction / repair, but did not pose a problem. Gravel path going up the side of the mountain. Small overlook on the downtown and part of the river. Beautiful little trail hidden across the river from downtown Charleston. The bottom lot entrance is right next to Bridge Rd at the light and can be hard to miss. Well-kept gravel trail is just over a mile round trip and has lots of tree coverage, so it's perfect even on hot, sunny days (can make it a bit dark and creepy when its later in the day though).
