Gustard's Custard — Restaurant in Charleston

One star for service and 4 stars for the frozen custard. My husband and I attempted a second visit last night because the first time was great. We're big fans of legitimate frozen custard and Gustard's is pretty close. However, there were about 20 of us in line and the line was taking forever. After 20 minutes we gave up. There were only about 6 customers in the brewery which is attached next door. Maybe the owner needs to pay more attention to the custard business because obviously that's what people are going there for, not the beer. Gustard's has a great product but needs to work on delivering it in a more efficient manner to customers. One window with not enough staff...

If you haven't heard of Gustards Custard, then congratulations, you're officially living under a rock made of mediocre desserts. This place is the best-kept secret in town, probably because everyone who finds it falls into a custard-induced bliss and forgets to tell their friends. Gustard’s Custard is one of the best dessert spots in Charleston! I’ve been several times and each visit leaves me in awe—the custard is just that good. Rich, creamy, and full of flavor, it’s a must-try if you have a sweet tooth.

What makes it even better? It’s connected to a brewery—@oth_charleston—that serves some incredible beers. It’s the perfect combo: grab a cold brew, then treat yourself to a killer dessert.
