2 years ago! A local gem we were glad to find. The food portions are amazingly huge. The taste is low country Cajun, so seasoned well but over powering. The service was quick and super friendly, Samantha was awesome along with everyone else. It reminded us our local bistro where everyone knows your name and treats you like family. My daughter had the pbj with a fruit cup, it was a super high end selection, meaning it was not just grapes and strawberries, and the sandwich was bigger than her head. She is a food critic and she gave it two thumbs up! I had the chicken philly, I swear it weighed more than a newborn baby elephant, with the cajun shoe string fries. My lady had the chicken salad with the seasoned coleslaw, the chicken salad was literally over flowing from the wrap like a waterfall after a heavy rain. If you’re in John’s island it’s a must stop.

EVEN BETTER!! This place is truly one of the best restaurants I have had the pleasure of dining at. Jessica the owner, server, bus girl, floor cleaner is really awesome. Her and her team (Ryan Daughtry) are the best. Our server was phenomenal. I had there rendition of corned beef hash and eggs, one of the best i have had. It had crispy hash browns, sliced CB, red peppers, onions and two eggs over medium. My wife had the fried green tomato open face omelette special it had minced bacon, fresh spinach, cheese, giant fried green tomatoes, with a balsamic glaze. We both had their home Made herb toast, epic!!! My little lady had the Lil’ Howie with French toast. GREAT PRICES, GREAT FOOD, GREAT PEOPLE!!!! We will always stop here...

If you are like me and rarely get to enjoy the buzz of a popular brunch spot because of the usual tight seating and crowd-navigating, this place could be perfect for you. It is cozy and the seating gives generous space for wait staff and diners to move past each other and is simply way more comfortable than you would expect. sigh The shrimp and grits. The cream sauce was delicious and rich, loaded with big, juicy shrimp, breakfast meats, peppers, and onions- but the grits-to sauce ratio was just a little ridiculous. It’s hard to tell since everything kind of mixes together, but I would guess it was less than 10% grits. It was more of a cream soup with a couple heaping tablespoons of grits mixed in. If this is how the dish is often prepared and I am just used to a different presentation than disregard my rant, but I took it home and poured it onto my own grits and found that to work better to balance the richness of the sauce. Also, my girlfriend had fries as her side and they were just barely cooked past frozen and soggy. I have been on the other side before and it happens, and in this case it’s completely overshadowed by their high quality and standards as a whole. Sunrise bistro is exquisite despite my complaining and worth a trip to the...
Read morePrior to this visit, we had not been there in a while. Normally, on a Sunday morning, the line is long to get a seat, but this time, it was not.
The restaurant is situated on a corner and is easy to come and go. There is plenty of parking.
Inside is fairly clean, but the bathroom is not. The toilets are never clean, so we make sure we go prior.
The service is great, and the food comes out pretty quick. There are always 5 of us, 2 adults and 3 children. We noticed that the menu changed and so did the prices. The prices got higher. Our total with the tip came to approx.$94.+ We all got water for the exception of both adults, we got coffee. One adult and one child got French toast, a side of potatoes, and a side toast the other a bisquit. The other adult got a salad and added chicken for $3.00 and grits. The salad was in the smallest bowl they had. The chicken was cold(the way it's served) and literally only had about 6 small cubed pieces.
When breakfast starts to come out to $20.00 a person (for basic breakfast food), it's time to find a new spot.
I do recommend this restaurant if you don't mind the high prices. The service has always...
