I was in there today for breakfast. Optmistic that the food and coffee would be good considering there are usually a lot of people there for lunch. I was so disappointed in everything from start to finish. The young lady who seated us was pleasant so that was good We ordered coffee Yuck. I hated it. It was dark and strong and even with cream and sugar I couldn’t drink it. So I ordered a bottled OJ to cleanse my palette Not much variety on breakfast but I decided to order the French toast. Again barely edible. It was not even hot. It was cool like it had set out for awhile. My husband ordered hummus toast with mushrooms and goat cheese and something else and he said it was ok. So after eating about 6 bites of my breakfast and about 2 sips of my coffeee I was ready to go. We were the only folks in there and I can see why. You guys Need a major overhaul on your breakfast and your coffee needs to be better I really wanted to like it because I love Hayes park but I will not be going back for breakfast. We will try their lunch and give them...
Read moreThe Heyday is exactly what Johns Island has needed...for awhile! From the beautiful location inside of Hayes Park, full of gorgeous live oak trees, modern architecture but with a Lowcountry-feel, centrally located on the island and a menu that offers something for everyone.. A++ all around. I can't speak highly enough about the staff who are so welcoming, kind, personable and really make you feel like Heyday is 'home.' Zack is a superstar and is always so attentive and friendly, Lizzie is a rockstar and is so kind, genuine and always steers you in the right direction with the best cocktails and meals. Jenny, Ben and Caitlin are always highlights of my visits in, too. They make each and every visit such a positive, fun experience. Chef Ryan is top notch! If you haven't given The Heyday a try, you're missing out. I'll end by saying thank you to the entire staff for all of your hard work, attentiveness and overall grade A customer service. I'll be a regular for many, many...
Read moreI hesitate to write reviews within days of a grand opening, but The Heyday made it easy to do! This much anticipated restaurant and "local" gathering place joyfully opened in January 2025, on the third day of a very rare and city-crippling snow and ice storm. The Heyday is open for breakfast lunch and dinner, offering a robust menu and impressive cocktail selection. With an attentive, personable crew, all are super charming, approachable, and easy going...typical John's Island vibe! I started with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and a bowl of she crab soup, followed by an asparagus frittata with arugula, all of which looked and tasted like a boutique restaurant experience in downtown CHS. JZI's Hayes Park is idyllic and the location is along Maybank is super convenient. I have a feeling that I will not be alone in becoming a "local" regular...
