Somm Wine Bar — Restaurant in Charleston

Coming from out of town, we were not sure what to expect. We have been visiting Kiawah for years, and sometimes Fresh Fields is just too crowded. So we wanted to try something different. And boy, did we hit the jackpot.

We were greeted by friendly waitstaff who put some tables together for us and proceeded to quickly welcome us and introduce us to the menu. We ordered charcuterie and some flights of wine. They had excellent (!) cheeses and meats to try, and were able to accommodate easily (and tastefully!) for our several allergies/sensitivities, including gluten intolerance (for which they had both bread AND crackers).

The wine was both fantastic and a good value. They had a variety of options for flights, both red and white, and everyone in my family loved every glass. I especially loved their special Somm flight. And it's, of course, Somm as in sommelier, which the owner told us they were a level 2. I don't know a ton about wine, but the people here sure seem to. It was a great time, and we look forward to making it an annual part of our summer vacation experience. If you're in town or are local, you'd be remiss not to check...

The charcuterie board was beautifully presented and packed with high-quality cheeses, cured meats, fresh fruit, and artisanal accompaniments that paired perfectly with our wine choices. Every bite was a delight, and the portion was generous enough for sharing.

Great new little wine bar on John's. Recently opened and very tastefully done. Pricing was great and of course you could buy any bottle and drink there with no corkage fees. Not just 1 but 4 different flights to choose from so there's an option to fit everyones tastes. They also had a special bottle of the day which is what I chose and was not disappointed. The food options are simple, well executed, light bites which fit in well for a place to grab a glass or 2 of wine and watch the sunset through their giant windows that surround 3 sides of the venue. There was an artist Jeremey @foreverfrommetoyou who was doing a live painting which was a nice touch and he is a fantastic artist. Jordan the owner was tending the bar so needless to say we were treated well by not only him but the other members of his staff as well.
