New to the area and have passed this spot several times. My husband and I like a good beer and came in on a Sunday afternoon. It's a little unassuming spot in the back of a lot which is nice. We like the "hole in the way places" best. The atmosphere wàs friendly and inviting, the bar was already full with a Sunday crowd which made us feel at ease. The service is great! We were given menus right away and had our drink orders taken. One of the regular patrons (I assume he's a regular anyway) gave us suggestions for food and the bartender told us about the special. We ordered the special (smash burgers) and got onion rings, fries, and an app of fried mushrooms. The fries and onion rings were outstanding, fried perfectly, and crisp! The beer was cold and refreshing. The burgers while okay were not really what I would consider a proper smash burger. The patties while cooked were not crispy or smashed and appeared to be precooked much like a cafeteria burger. I'm also not really a fan of american cheese slices (like Kraft singles) either but, that's just my preferenc.le. The fried mushrooms came out after burgers but, that's okay it happens and wasn't an issue. They were okay but, the consistency was a little off, they were slightly mushy. Next time we'll try the French dip that was recommended. It would also be nice to have an itemized receipt but, I feel like the prices are decent based on our total. Overall, great service, clean, and friendly establishment with good beer. We'll definitely be back...
Read moreGreat dive bar. They have all you need slots, darts, or pool. Many tvs with different games on. Went for the Thanksgiving meal, and I love what they are doing to give back to the community. I didn't have anywhere to go for Thanksgiving, and they made the atmosphere very welcoming and friendly. People from all ages showed up, and the food was delicious. I'm so grateful for such a kind, open hearted experience. Love to see local places doing what they can to harbor connection and community & the Pub on 61st is doing that. We need places like this so much right now. Jess and Patrick spent their entire Thanksgiving working hard to care for their community, and it did not go by unoticed. Thank you guys so much. I'll be stopping by again anytime I can for a nice chill evening. Im not a beer drinker & they had multiple cider/drink options available to choose from....
Read moreI love this place! I just moved to Charleston and this was the first place we came to for food and drinks after moving in. The wings and burgers were amazing! I really appreciate how it is authentic and delicious bar food that is NOT overpriced (which is how it should be). Mike, (the bartender) is so friendly and funny. We loved talking to him, and he is very skilled at bartending. Jess (the cook in the kitchen) was very fast and efficient, the food was delicious! I got the Hells Hot burger with fries and loved it. Miss Joy (one of the managers) was also very friendly and cool, very fun to talk to! We will definitely become regulars here and I recommend this place if you want an authentic and laid...
