Obviously a place with a lot of regulars, we were treated as outsiders. I personally don't really care about the staff being unfriendly, but they also left drinks empty and walked past us multiple times to get to other tables. The food was pretty good. We tried a few different breakfast places while in town, and the group unanimously voted the hash at Hungry Haven the best. Omelets were also cooked as ordered and packed with filling. The grits were a bit bland, but we are southerners, so it may be unfair to even rate those. So if you don't care about friendly service, give them a try.

We stumbled on the Hungry Haven after a long search for places that were open. We happened to be visiting during a two day black out in the town. We were thrilled to find this gem open and though cash was preferable they were able to accept credit cards using the carbon copy machine. The food was amazing, the portions were perfect, the coffee was delicious and the prices were surprisingly low. My recommendation is to get the stuffed french toast and a side of kielbasa, you won't be disappointed.

This was our first time here and we liked it a lot. The food was very good. The atmosphere rustic which we liked. If you have not been here before it’s sits back off the road and could be missed if your not paying attention. It appeared to us that there were mostly locals eating there which is always a good sign. The had local photography on the walls that were for sale. We will definitely come back when we’re in the area.

We been going here for about 27yrs started going when it was Howies hungry heaven! And it was great untill the past few years and especially the past few times we visited and the last time we went this weekend will probably be the last for awhile . First of all when you walk in it has a bad musty and old smell coming from the rug I believe. And its starting to look dirty and run down. I ordered the salmon benny with a well done bagle and it was gross . Bagle wasn't cook like i asked. The salmon was cut paper thin and also in chunks some warm some cold. I asked for grits emplacement of homefries . But instead got burnt homefries then when the grits did come they where thick and plain tasting. The waitress did not Listen to what we asked she kept messing everything up. The food seems like its just not cooked with passion or any care at all anymore.. you can always here the cooking complaining in the back with a mean look...

I liked it. Had breakfast the other day. I was very tasty. I had a meat lovers omelette and the bacon in it was cooked to perfection. My wife had a veggie omelette which she also liked. The best part was my 15 year old daughter who after looking at the menu proclaimed that they had "nothing good there". I rattled off a couple of items at which she settled on the stuffed French toast and then proceeded to clean the plate. My 14 year old son had the banana bread French toast and also cleaned his plate. The wait for the food was as expected for what we ordered. The coffee flowed as we waited. The prices were reasonable. The service friendly and there was plenty of parking. It was a little busy for a Monday so I would expect it is hoping on the weekend. It was a little loud but not obnoxious. Nice location also on the way to the beaches. I'll be back. It was...

Been going too Hungry Haven for years while on vacation. Like 30 years, although I'm not sure it's always been the same name. Breakfast is always good, with sizable portions. This morning was the Crow's Nest. Think eggs Benedict with corned beef hash (fresh made with big chunks of melt-in-your-mouth corned beef) instead of ham and home fries.

It was excellent. Almost more than I could eat. And I'm not a small dude. Service was fast and friendly. Food was out quick and piping hot. Coffee was kept full. What else does one need to make for a great morning?

Oh, that's right, they have DiPollino's Supri sopressata (made in neighboring Westerly) at the register. If you haven't tried Supri, and you like dry cured sausages, you owe it to yourself to try it out. 10/10 would...
