Kingston Pizza Charlestown — Restaurant in Charlestown

Ordered a pizza for delivery at 6:50pm. They told me it would be 45 minutes to an hour. They forgot to ask me how to pay but I had some cash so no big deal. The house is a little over 1.5 miles away. I could have driven but with little ones you just want something simple after a day at the beach. This was not the solution. When I called back a little over an hour later they said it left for delivery 15 minutes prior. So I waited 15 more minutes. Called again. "We do many deliveries but it is on the way. It is in a hot bag so it stays fresh." I remind her that it is 1.6 miles away and that it doesn't take nearly 40 minutes to go that far. I offered to pick it up but it was out for delivery. At an hour and a half I spoke to Matt who identified himself as the manager. He said that they are unclear why it is taking so long but it should be there any moment. My wife called Charlestown Famous Pizza who delivered while I was on the phone with Kingston Pizza. Moral of the story...my wife took care of the family while I spun my wheels. If you are renting a house near Charlestown Beach do not buy from these guys they will waste your time. Friday, August 11, 2017 - I'm rating this place one star because I can't choose zero stars. It's a shame because the food is decent. Ordered 4 pizzas at 7:15 and told it would take 30 minutes. Upon arrival I witness three employees counting the entire contents of the cash register on the counter. I was not greeted with a warm welcome but by a "there are others waiting before you". The small crowd of people in the lobby had to wait until the 3 employees finished counting all the money. And by the way, none of them washed their hands after! Finally the extremely rude guy who appeared to be in charge started handling customers. Eventually he got to us and he discovers that no one has cooked our order. He doesn't apologize and barks out orders to the kitchen to get working on our order, then mumbles under his breath something about giving us a deal and that it will take about 15 minutes. Thirty minutes later we got our pizzas, at full price ($50 for two larges and a small cheese!?!?!?), thrown at us by a grubby kitchen worker who managed to get melted cheese all over the OUTSIDE of the box. I've been coming here for roughly 20 years, it used to be a consistently good place to get pizza. As of the past few years, getting a pizza at this place has become a game of roulette. I know this as I've been getting the exact same pizza for at least 15 years. Always the same, Thunderbird with extra thick crust and blue cheese on the side. The attached photo is of our most recent (and honistly last) order; not only does it have a strip of dangerously uncooked dough in the center but its also clearly a not thick crust pizza. They also forgot one of the appetizers, of which we had to come back to get. Thankfully they refunded us for the pizza, and we were able to eat some after cooking it a bit longer. Had this experience been a one-off, I'd say some of the pizza choices are worth it; since this was the umpteenth time we've had uncercooked pizza or no thick crust or no sauce, I think I need to move on.
