Tropic Frost Ice Cream — Restaurant in Charlestown

I'm so glad I finally got to enjoy some ice cream from Tropic Frost! After meeting the owner at a music event, I knew I had to give it a try—it's always great to support a locally owned spot, especially by a cool person.Tropic Frost offers so many options, from flavors to toppings, and we absolutely love it.

Today was our second visit, and we were on a soft serve mission. Three of us had chocolate ice cream with chocolate sprinkles, while one had a twist with rainbow sprinkles. During our first visit, we tried both soft serve and hard ice cream with toppings, and everything was delicious.

A big shout-out to the young lady who kindly remade my daughter's cone when I accidentally ordered the wrong flavor. She was so reassuring and made sure my daughter got the twist she wanted.

I’m sad they’ll be closing after for the rest of 2024 after Labor Day, but we’ll definitely be supporting this ice cream shop at least 1-2 times a week next summer!

The area with picnic tables, a small deck with Adirondack chairs, and faux palm tree lights is really cool, clean, and chill. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a shake or ice cream.

One star. I say one star because not of the ice cream, but because of someone who works there, and in particular, it is the older woman with the shaved head. I came to tropic with a rather larger family and the poor girls working and doing their best are running around trying to serve everyone in line and the shaved head woman just sits there in the back acting like she knew the manager for years and experienced every life lesson and doesn't have to work a day in her life. Take her pay, and give it to the young girls working there. I will not be coming back due to the disrespect I felt by her not acting like her job and the people are important enough to move...

Very cute roadside ice cream shack. We've now been there twice and both visits were good experiences. The place looks very clean inside. Friendly service both times. We only went for their soft serve vanilla, which is among the best I've ever had. (It's the only soft serve flavor they have. I hope they get chocolate before summer's out!)
